Mother’s Day - In honor of Mother’s Day, there are no evening activities TODAY.

Baby Dedication - We are having baby dedication on Father’s Day, June 15, 2014 during the 9:30am Worship Service. If you would like to have your baby dedicated, please submit 6 photos of your baby, baby’s name, date of birth, parents’ names, and a contact number of the parent submitting information. The photos should include at least one of the entire family; the others can be of only the baby or include other family members. Pictures need to be in a JPG format. You can also bring a flash drive or CD with photos on it into the office. Call Pennie at: (210) 680-7813 / email: [email protected] if you have any questions.

Missions Offering - Sunday, May 18.

ADULTS

Costa Rica Mission Trip - A team will be going to Costa Rica August 7-15. We need people to work with the children for VBS, along with people for construction. People that speak Spanish are needed to be interpreters for this trip. Cost of this trip is yet to be determined. If you are interested in helping with the VBS portion, please contact Terri Kruse at: (210) 421-3623. If you are interested in helping in the construction portion, please contact Pastor Steve at: [email protected].

SERVE

Outreach - GO! Tuesday, May 13 @ 6:30pm in room 106. Paul Schlett’s class.

Food Pantry - Donations for the food pantry are needed! You can bring any and all non-perishable food items to the office during regular office hours. If you need a list of items, there is a list of suggested items on the table in the foyer. Please do not bring expired items.

REACH

VBS - Vacation Bible School - June 16-20. “Agency 3D” Discover, Decide, Defend. 9am - 12:30pm. For children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade. People are needed to help decorate the building the week prior. Please contact Deb Hullet at: [email protected] .

New Children’s Department Schedule

Kid’s R.O.C.K. - Kid’s R.O.C.K. will conclude on June 1, 2014. We are thankful to Jenny, Tracy, and all the Kid’s ROCK volunteers for their dedicated service and leadership. It has been a wonderful ministry to our children.

Children’s Sunday School – The children are moving to a Sunday School schedule similar to the adults. We will have classes available for all ages during both hours of Worship and Sunday School. Our Pre-school department will remain unchanged. Pre-K and Kindergarten will be able to remain in their Sunday School rooms for both hours with different teachers, lessons, and formats each hour. Parents of first through sixth graders are encouraged to select which hour they would like their children to attend (9:30AM or 10:45AM) and have their children accompany them to worship during the other hour. A list of classrooms, grades, and teachers will be available in the bulletin on June 1 and will be posted around the building on June 8.

Senior Trip - May 31 - June 1. Sign-up deadline is May 18.

MFUGE (Summer Camp) - July 7-11 at Houston Baptist University for students that have completed grades 7-12. Deposit of $100.00 is due by 5/18.

2014 Graduates - Graduation Sunday is June 8. If your child is graduating from high school this year, please submit (5) pictures & a short graduate biography by May 26, to Pennie in the office at: [email protected].

Sunday, May 18 is our Missions Sunday Worship Service! -Missions Offering Sunday-

We will only have one Worship service at 10:00am.

May 18th will include guest speakers sharing their experiences and opportunities God has provided them with, and how He is using them to reach the nations, internationally and locally, with VPBC’s help.

We have a team of adults going to Honduras in June to assist with medical needs and with VBS.

We have a team of adults going to Costa Rica in August to assist in construction and with VBS.

We have a team of students and adults going to Alaska in July to assist the North American Mission Board Missionaries.
