I. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

OF THE PORTFOLIO

The pre-service teaching portfolio was

prepared to share experiences for those

who will undergo the same

undertakings. Some classroom

difficulties that I had encountered are

mentioned, and the lesson I had learned

as well. This pre-service teaching

portfolio is serves as the mirror of the

student teacher for his progress and

achievement. And also, to assess the

student teacher’s learning for the

preparation in the real world of

teaching.

II. PRAYER OF PRE-SERVICE

TEACHER

Guide me in all that I do

That I may strive

Not so much to teach,

As to awaken,

Not so much to instruct

But to inspire.

Save me from the complacency

Or readymade answer by

An ever present of the

Wonder of your creation.

Above all, help me to give my pupils

Love-a love gentle enough

To touch, but firm enough

To leave them room to grow

And help me to give it now

Page 9: Bel Portfolio

9 | P a g e

That they share in in the world in

need of love.

TEACHER’S CREED

I am a teacher. I accept to be

sagacious and tenacious in

teaching every student, because I

believe every student can learn.

I accept the responsibility to create

a learning environment conducive

to optimum achievement

academically, socially, and

emotionally.

I actively pursue excellence for my

students and myself.

I provide a model of decorum and

respect athat guides my students as

well as honours them.

Page 11: Bel Portfolio

11 | P a g e

Pre-service Teaching Portfolio 2015

I affirm superlative expectations

for my students and myself.

I cherish every student.

I am a teacher. I change the world

one student at a time.

MY PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

According to John Dewey,

education is by its nature an

endless spiral. It is an activity,

which includes science because it is

a systematic study that is

concerned with facts, principles

and methods that could be

observed in our environment. In

short, it is a process that has

problems to be studied which

reacts.

A teacher should believe that

activities is needed to create

desirable changes in the behavior

of the students.

IV. Personal Insight of Pre-

service Training

Experience

With the help of this teaching

experience I had learned a lot that

will mold me to become a

professional teacher. After three

months observation, I am now to

aplly all the learnings I got during

my practice teaching.

December 2, 2014, it is a

pleasure to meet the teachers and

students in Amparo High School.

I had realized that teaching is a

difficult profession. It is not

something which can be paid by

mere salary. Teaching requires

effort, dedication, perseverance,

and a lot of patience. I’ve come to

Page 19: Bel Portfolio

19 | P a g e

Pre-service Teaching Portfolio 2015

realize how serious the profession

I’m pursuing is during my practice

teaching. Teaching in different

areas in TLE with students had

already been quite frustrating. All

night different lesson and lesson

plans you have to prepare for the

next day. I had not only doubled

my efforts in teaching, I had given

my whole effort to make the

students learn.
