Why warm-up? There are three main reasons why we warm up. The first is to increase heart rate to getoxygen to the muscles quicker, you can do this by jogging round the room. To preventinjurys such as the pulling or tearing of a muscle, this can be done by performing either astatic or dynamic stretch. The last reason we warm up is to get you mentally preparedwhich may help to increase your ability to remember steps and also improves co-

ordination

Why cool down? The three main reasons we cool down are to lower the amount of lactic acid the build upin the muscles from exersion. To ensure your body gets back to its resting heart rate. Finally to prevent any achy muscles or joints that may have been strained in the sport.

What to wear? The clothes you are advised to wear clothes that don’t constrict movement such asleggings, tracksuit bottoms or a T-Shirt. You may also be advised to take out all jewlellrey

to ensure that it doesn’t catch on any other students and cause injury.

In my dance I was paired with Amy and we were fighting over a pen. We choreagraphedit so that we used aggressive and violent movements in order to make the sequence tolook more believeable. It also helps engage our audience so they are more compelled tocontinue watching. We had to be careful whilst doing this as even though the moveswhere meant to be agressive we had to ensure that it still looked like a dance that hadcohesion and believeability.
