Each web page address begins with http:// which stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. The http:// shows it is an Internet address.

Most, but not all, addresses contain www, which stands for World Wide Web

the name of the computer of “server” to which you connect. Every server on the Internet has an assigned label called the “domain name.” nasa shows that this computer belongs to NASA.

the domain name, called a “domain designator,” tells what kind of group owns the server.
