ABOUT  The Boracay International Beach Touch 2012 is a two (2) day social beach touch tournament where the Hottest & Hippest Men & Women strut their stuff. The palm-fringed powdery white sands make Boracay the ideal place for Beach Touch, plus the warm crystal-clear blue water will help cool you off between games. The tournament is a perfect way for participants to showcase their touch skills, as well as providing the opportunity to socialize, make friends, have fun, & party Boracay style. Organized by Touch Football Pilipinas during the Philippines summer season, it is open to all ladies, men’s, and mixed teams. But this is Boracay, so partying the night away is par for the course. This is why the TFP is partnering with the best night spots in Boracay ensuring the fun off-the-field is just as hot as the action on the field.  TENTATIVE EVENT SCHEDULE

KEY RULES Dimensions of the Field are 30m x 20m Games are 8 or 10mins in length & NO break for halftime – teams immediately swap sides at halftime The goal is to score more points than the other team - 1 point is scored by placing the ball on the ground within the touchdown

zone without being touched - touchdown - 2 points is scored if the ball is grounded in the bonus touchdown area

(marker cones at the center of the touchdown zone) The attacking team has four (4) players on the field, while the defensive team has three (3) players on field. The attacking team has four (4) touches to try a score a touchdown.

After being touched by a defender, the attacking team ball-carrier restarts play by placing the ball on the ground where they were touched & stepping over it – the Step-over. The defensive team must retreat/go backwards & be no closer than four (4) meters (roughly 5 steps) away from the position of the Step-over, to be Onside. Acting Half CANNOT enter the touchdown zone while in possession of the ball. Any knock-down of the ball results in a change of possession (e.g. unsuccessful interception) - handover to the defending team. All infringements result in a change of possession & a Step-over The game starts with a tap from the centre of the SCORELINE with four (4) attacking players. Three (3) defending players start on the HALF WAY LINE

INSURANCE – MEDICAL & TRAVEL Participants in the event are NOT covered by medical or accident insurance.

Furthermore, all participants are required to sign an Express Assumption of Risk Waiver form before playing.

The player registration fee does NOT include medical insurance – all participants compete at their own risk.

It is highly recommended that all participants & supporters arrange personal travel/accident insurance policy prior to departure. There is a low incident of injury – however, accidents can happen both on & off the field and it is recommended that ‘all’ take out a travel accident policy.

WEATHER January to May usually brings the best weather to most of the country. This is due to the summer/hot-dry season that runs from March to May. During this period, the temperature usually ranges from 25°C (77°F) to 37°C (99°F)

WHAT TO BRING In Boracay, you would usually see a dress-down type of attire where a lot of people go around the island in flip-flops or sandals, short pants, tops, beach clothes, cotton shirts, and towels. The idea is to relax and feel cool with your attire, especially as it is Summer time in the Philippines.

Don’t forget your suntan lotion, sun glasses, &/or hat/cap.

For the tournament, apart from a team uniform & a water bottle you don’t need anything else – not even boots as we are playing on sand.

LOCATION The Philippines is centrally located in the Asian region making it a perfect touring destination. It is no more than 4 hours from every major Asian city.
