A FRESH APPROACH TO MOVING FORWARD

Join us for an interactive workshop

about climate change presented by

Sharon Gold. The workshop is de-

signed to raise awareness about the impact environmental

changes are having on Rhode Island residents, and allows

each participant to reflect on their own understanding of

climate change, its impacts on our environment, and how

to become engaged in crafting solutions. Sharon holds a

Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the City

University of New York. She works with residents and leg-

islators to address climate changes and issues. Registration

Presented by All That Matters Yoga, this class is

low impact, perfect for anyone, including those who are

older or working with injury. Please bring a yoga mat or

In Bed By Ten, a local ukulele jam group will

be hosting free ukulele lessons and a ukulele

jam session twice a month. Workshops will

begin at 5:00 p.m. for beginning students

and at 6:00 p.m. for advanced and experienced players.

Bring your ukulele and get together with other ukulele en-

thusiasts to play blues, rock and traditional music. Register

Join us as Dr. Frank Heppner, author of Rail-

roads of Rhode Island, gives a slide presenta-

tion based on his latest book, The Seventy

Year Train Trip: 500,000 Miles by Rail, a light-

hearted memoir that recounts his global ad-

ventures (and misadventures) about trains around the

world. Dr. Heppner has been riding trains since before he

was born. His father was a doctor for the South Pacific Rail-

road in San Francisco. By the time he was 10, he’d accumu-

lated about 10,000 miles aboard a train and subsequently

rode trains in 28 countries, including Morocco and Malay-

How to Participate:

1. Pick up a Teen Summer Brochure at any of our branches, or print one from our website.

2. Every hour you read, or teen program you attend, mark it on ticket #1 in the brochure. Fin-

ish the ticket and turn it in at any of our branches to receive a prize pack of coupons to

Sweenor’s Chocolates, Adventureland, Pier Pizza and more!

3. Complete ticket #2 and turn it in to be entered in our grand prize raffle and to choose a free

book. You could win Wakefield Book Gift Cards or Amazon Gift Cards!

All tickets must be turned in by August 10th. Winners will be drawn and notified on August 16th.
