Standard 8 Meta Reflection: Exceptionality Addresses the unique learning and behavioral needs of all children, collaborating with other educators and professionals where necessary.
I met Standard 8: Exceptionality by addressing individual learning needs of
students. In the picture above, I am using a demonstration method to help the students
with learning disabilities understand an academic activity.
I am also attaching a document about inclusion in the classroom. This paper focuses
on the pro’s and con’s of integrating students with EBD into general education classrooms.
The benefits of inclusion for students with EBD come in many facets: social gains, academic
strides, behavioral maturity and belonging to a community of peers that are the same age.
In addition I have created a power point presentation about students with LD
(learning disabilities). The power point provides information on typical behaviors,
struggles and ways to include students with LD successfully. My brother struggled with LD
and some of his personal experiences are included in the presentation.
