Timeline

In the period of preparation, the entire team will visit guest lectures, seminars and fairs to gain knowledge about the Brazilian economy, culture and political structure. Our main focus will be to customize a matching research with the needs and requests of your company. When there is a clear view of what kind of research is desired, a research proposal will be written. Possibilities are market research, sector analysis, competition analysis, resource and development, outsourcing opportunities and investment opportunities. When this proposal is accepted, the preparatory desk research will start in order to prepare for the field research. In July, a team consisting of 3 researchers will visit Brazil for four weeks for further data collecti-on. In the final phase of the project the findings and recommendations will be presented with a detailed report.

Case studies

In 2013 the IRP conducted research in China for Vitablend. The purposeof the research was to identify the Chinese IMF market. The research started by mapping the different macro-economic factors involved in the Chinese IMF market. Once the researchers had mapped the macro-economic factors, the major domestic and international IMF producers in China were discussed and the entire IMF Chinese market and it’s consumers were analyzed. Depth interviews with Vitablend’skey competitors and Chinese consumers have led to new insights. These insights were incorporated in an advisory report.

In 2008 the KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) was already an active player in the Indian market. Despite their success in India, they indicated that they wantedto search for new opportunities to improve their market position in thisemerging market. The IRP conducted research among the ‘business’ travelers to and from India to get a better understanding of their travel behavior of the travelers specifically to Europe and the United States. Besides, the IRP analyzed the feasibility of direct flights from The Netherlands to India. By depth interviews with KLM’s most important competitors and business travelers in India, the IRP has found new valuable information and insights in the airlines market. These new insights have been analyzed and summarized in an advisory report.
