To ensure the protection of woman victim of violence, offering a safe space for the reflection, where the woman could raise awareness about her situation, to take the most adequate decision, according her needs and reality…

OBJETIVE:OBJETIVE:

MANAGEMENT: It is under the IMRM management. The sheltering management is

always done by the 112 social worker.

It offers sheltering and protection to mistreated women and their

children.

It works 24 hours/day, short stages (around two weeks).

The Centre has facilities to guarantee the privacy and intimacy of

women and children, as well as the safety and security conditions

needed in these cases.

USERS: Spanish of foreigner women, and their children, in situation of

physical and/or psychological mistreatment. The criteria to decide the acceptation in the centre is to ensure

the woman protection. The mistreatment denounce is not a requirement, but a

recommendation.

SHELTER RESOURCES: HOUSES SHELTER RESOURCES: HOUSES AND MENTORED APARTMENTAND MENTORED APARTMENT

Centres where women victim of violence and, in some cases, their children in charge, are temporarily accommodated and attended.

It is facilitated an integrated treatment, by promoting their personal autonomy and facilitating the resources to help them to re – build their life in normal conditions.

The stages are mid – term periods (3 - 6 months).

The access is always through the zone social worker.

The mentored apartment is a functional home, where women victim of mistreatment and their children live together until reaching a level of autonomy. It is the second step after the shelter house.

Currently, in Murcia Region there are four shelter houses (*) and one mentored apartment (*), managed by the municipalities and financed by the IMRM.

COORDINATION POINT

Service by the IMRM, where it is received the Protection Orders from the

correspondent Courts, as well as the legal resolutions concerning domestic violence. The concerned documents are sent to the

municipalities by this service too.
