HI Team, Several times we will have budget issues in project system. I am givingsome examples how the Project System availability control behaves & itsconseuences.

Its saving without giving any error message & it consider the 'udget $romthe top level 'S (lement. Isn:t it..8 Step * +hec# the 'udget 2eport" ;ou can observe in the th line item, availability as )11 0ve value & theactual and assigned value as )1130. It is because we have done somepostings to the th level 'S (lement. In the top level 'S (lement, +urrent budget is )11130, 2eleased is41130, ctual cost is )1130 <This is th =evel 'S (lement ctual amount*,/nally it is showing that vailable 'udget as >11.



Step 7* !ow, I distributed budget amount -1130 to the th level 'S (lement Here it shows that available or remaining -1130 at th 'S (lement. I$ youare trying to post )11 then, will the system allow you to post..8 =et:s see...9

Step ?* Trying to post -7130 to the th level 'S. s per the standard reportit should allow up to -11 since its showing $or -1130, but here the li$e haschanged to error message...9



It:s giving the error message $or )7130 even through -1130 available in thespeci/c 'S (lement budget. 2eason" System behavior is, a$ter distribution to the th 'S system willconsider )1130 already consumed with 0ve value. $ter assigning that it willconsume the /rst & remain value would be )1130 & the invoicing amountwould -7130 that is the reason, error triggered $or )71. 'ut the budget report it shows availability $or -1130. max time business havea con$using since it showing in budget available, even though system will notallow you to process $urther due to the above error.
