NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Grossmont–Cuyamaca Community College District of San Diego

County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will

receive up to, but not later than 2:00 PM on October 12, 2017, sealed bids for the award of a contract for:

Bids shall be received in the Purchasing & Contracts Department at 8800 Grossmont College Drive, El Cajon,

92020-1799 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time and place.

Detailed information may be obtained from the Purchasing and Contracts Department, at the District Office,

8800 Grossmont College Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020-1799. Each bid shall be submitted on a form obtained from

the above-mentioned district office or by downloading from the District’s web-site at

http://www.gcccd.edu/purchasing-contracts/bids-and-proposals.html.

Bid return envelope must be addressed to the Purchasing and Contracts Department, Grossmont-Cuyamaca

Community College District, 8800 Grossmont College Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020-1799, and be clearly and

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or

1. BID OPENINGS: Bids shall be delivered to said Governing Board, or its representative, at its office on or before the day and hour set for the opening of bids, which bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope provided therefore by the District and bearing the description of the bid call, the name of the bidder, and the date and hour of the opening. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to see that his bid is received in proper time. Any bids received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids shall be returned to the bidder unopened. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at the time and place scheduled in the Notice to Bidders.

If quotation is not made, the Invitation, Bid and Award Form must be returned and reason stated; otherwise, name will be removed from mailing list.

2. SECURITY BOND: If bid specifications require a bid bond, bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or corporate surety bond for not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid, payable to the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, which check or bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will comply with the terms of his signed bid, provided, that if only certain items of the bid are accepted, he may thereupon substitute a certified or cashier's check for 5% of the aggregate amount of the accepted items on each bid; and provided further that bidders may, in lieu of the above mentioned check, file with the District an annual or continuing surety company's bond in the sum of not less than $2,000.00 to insure compliance with the terms of their signed bids submitted from time to time during the life of the bid bond. Checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned and checks of successful bidders will be held as security for faithful performance, to be returned upon completion of orders. When required by the District, the successful bidder, simultaneously with the execution of the agreement, shall furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to one hundred (100%) of the contract price, and on a form provided by the District. NO BID BOND IS REQUIRED.

3. WITHDRAWAL OF BIDS: Any bidder may withdraw his bid, either personally or by a written request, at any time prior to the scheduled time for opening of bids. However, no bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening of bids.

4. SPECIFICATIONS: Before submitting a bid, bidder shall carefully examine the specifications, and the forms or other contract documents. They shall fully inform themselves as to all existing conditions and limitations, and shall include in the bid figure a sum to cover the cost of all items included in the specifications. No allowance will be made because of lack of such examination or knowledge.

All materials furnished must be in conformity with the specifications and will be subject to inspection and approval of the District after delivery. The right is reserved to reject and return at the risk and expense of the vendor such portion of any shipment, which may be defective or fail to comply with specifications, without invalidating the remainder of the order. If rejected, it will be held for disposition at expense and risk of the vendor. All electrical items must comply with Electrical Safety Orders, Section 2383-2400, Title 8, California Administrative Code, whether so specified on the bid form or not.

5. BRANDS: If quoting other than the make, model or brand specified in the bid, the manufacturer's name and catalog number must be given in the space provide for "Brand or Trade Number" and descriptive cuts and information must be attached to the quotation. If bidder fails to indicate brand or trade numbers in the space provided, award will be made on bid specification as described. The District will assume vendor is bidding "as specified."

6. DEMONSTRATIONS: If the District considers a need, bidders shall be required to arrange demonstrations of items or services bid. Failure to provide such working demonstration may disqualify the bidder's bid submittal. Unless otherwise requested by the District, bidders shall be required to provide the requested demonstrations at the designated District facility. All demonstrations shall be provided free of charge to the District. Bidders may be required to reimburse the District for travel to demonstrations not held at a District facility.

7. QUOTATIONS: No alternate bids will be accepted. All prices and quotations must be in ink or

typewritten. No pencil figures or erasures are permitted. Mistakes may be crossed out and corrections inserted adjacent thereto and must be initialed in ink by the person signing the quotation.

Quote on each item separately. Prices must be stated in units specified hereon or trade standard. Each item must be considered separately and not in combination with other items (unless otherwise specified on the bid form).

Quotations are to be verified before submission; they cannot be corrected after bids are opened.

In all cases, wherever practical, prices quoted should be net including all trade discounts. Cash discounts of less than 15 days will be considered net. Cash discounts, when given, will be figured from date of receipt of invoices providing complete delivery of the order has been made. If tests are necessary, cash discounts will be figured from date of acceptance of test report by District's Vice Chancellor-Business Services.

It is understood that the bidder is to quote F.O.B. Destination, transportation charges prepaid, all items on which bids are accepted to the address indicated on this bid form, unless otherwise specified in the quotation. All costs for delivery, drayage or freight, or for the packing of said articles, are to be borne by the bidder unless otherwise stated. All containers, drums, carboys, etc., to be returned, must be shipped on a no charge or consignment basis.

Bid is subject to acceptance at any time within 30 days after opening of same, unless otherwise stipulated. Delivery must be made within time specified on bid unless otherwise indicated by bidder.

Signature: Every bid, in order to be considered, must be signed by an officer of your company in longhand. If corporation, corporate seal should be attached with appropriate corporate signature.

8. TAXES: No quotation shall include Federal excise tax as the District is exempt from such tax and will furnish appropriate tax exemption certificates. The District will pay California sales or use tax, but the amount of this tax shall not be included in quotations furnished in this bid.

9. WARRANTIES: On equipment bids, warranty periods must be specified. In addition to any and all warranties provided by law, supplier expressly warrants to the District that the equipment will be free from defects in design, material, workmanship and title.

10. INSURANCE: If the bid should provide for the performance of labor at the District's or any college's location, or if this bid should provide for installation or supervision for the installation or instruction in the use of this equipment, vendor will at his own expense, secure and maintain in effect during such periods appropriate worker's compensation/comprehensive/general liability/auto insurance and shall hold the District harmless from any and all claims, loss and liability during installation and instruction period. Vendor will supply District with company names and policy numbers evidencing compliance with these requirements.

11. ASSIGNMENT OF CONTRACT: No assignment by the contractor of any contract to be entered into hereunder or of any part thereof, or of funds to be received thereunder by the Contractor, will be recognized by the District unless such assignment has had the prior approval of the District and the surety has been given due notice of such assignment in writing and has consented thereto in writing.

12. LIABILITIES: (Hold Harmless Clause) The vendor shall indemnify and hold the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, its officers, agents, servants and employees, harmless from liability of any nature or kind whatsoever, on account of use by the publisher or author, manufacturer or agent, of any copyrighted or uncopyrighted composition, secret process, patented or unpatented invention, article or appliance furnished or used under this quotation.

13. DEFAULT BY SUPPLIER: If successful bidder fails or neglects to supply or deliver any of said goods, articles or services at the prices named and at the times and places above stated, then the District may cancel and rescind this contract or may purchase said goods, supplies, or services elsewhere, and hold said bidder responsible and liable for all damages which may be sustained thereby, or on account of the failure or neglect of said bidder in performing any of the terms and conditions of this contract; it being specifically provided and agreed that time shall be the essence of this agreement. If the District incurs additional costs by purchasing the items elsewhere, said costs may be deducted from unpaid invoices or must be paid to District by the successful bidder. Prices paid by the District shall be considered prevailing market prices at time purchase is made. If the District commences suit against Contractor to enforce any of the terms of

the contract (including all component parts of the contract documents) and prevails in such suit, the Contractor shall pay all litigation expenses incurred by the District, including attorney's fees and court costs.

14. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION: The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District requires that a signed copy of an Affirmative Action statement be on file in the District Office for every person, firm, company or corporation with whom the District does business regardless of the dollar value of the contract.

15. DELIVERY: Realistic delivery dates must be entered. All prices quoted are F.O.B. Destination unless District indicates otherwise in bid specifications. Successful bidder shall bear all risk of loss or damage in transit.

a. Purchase order numbers are to be clearly stated on packing slips and cartons.

b. Bidder (s) shall cooperate with the District in the completion of freight claims, freight inspections, and the notation of damages on bills of lading.

c. All packing is to be sufficient to avoid most normally encountered damage due to handling.

d. Shipment of material conflicting with the descriptions and/or stock numbers on a District purchase order will be considered contractor error and are subject to return. Any return caused by such contractor error shall be at the expense of the contractor. In the event of contractor error, no restocking fees, freight fees, freight charges or other costs/fees are to be charged to the District.

16. EXCUSE FOR NON-PERFORMANCE: The parties to the purchase order shall be excused from performance during the time and to the extent that they are prevented from obtaining, delivering or performing by act of God, fire, strike, loss or shortage of transportation facilities, walk-out, or commandeering of material, products, plants or facilities by the government provided that the non-performance is not due to the fault or neglect of the supplier. In such cases, however, satisfactory evidence thereof must be presented in written form.

17. ADDENDA OR BULLETINS: Any addenda or bulletins issued by the District during the time of bidding or forming a part of the documents loaned to the bidder for the preparation of his bid, shall be covered in the bid and shall be made a part of the contract.

18. INTERPRETATION OF DOCUMENTS: If any person contemplating submitting a bid on the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of the plans, if any, specifications, or other proposed contract documents, or finds discrepancies in, or omissions from, the specifications, he may submit to the District a written request for an interpretation or correction thereof. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation or correction of the proposed documents will be made only by Addendum duly issued by the District, and a copy of such Addendum will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of such documents. The District will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed documents.

19. DESIGNATION OF SUBCONTRACTORS: Each seller shall submit with his/her offer a list of the proposed subcontractors. This list must include the names, addresses, and particular function of the proposed subcontractors.

If the Seller fails to specify a subcontractor for any portion of the work to be performed under the contract, the Seller shall be deemed to have agreed to perform such portion, and shall not be permitted to subcontract that portion of the work except under the conditions hereinafter set forth.

Subletting or subcontracting of any portion of the work as to which no subcontractor was designated in the original offer shall only be permitted in cases of public emergency or necessity, and then only after a finding reduced to writing as a public record of the District.

20. LEGAL ISSUES:

A. Acceptance of Offer

A Seller's offer is subject to acceptance by the District at any time within 30 days after opening of same, unless otherwise stipulated herein. Terms and conditions additional to or not identical to the terms and conditions contained herein are not solicited and may render the bid non-responsive.

B. Assignment of Contract

Contractor shall not assign, transfer, convey, sublet, or otherwise dispose of the items appearing in this solicitation, which he or she may be awarded, or any rights accruing thereunder, title or interest therein, funds to be received hereunder, or any power to execute the same without the prior consent, in writing, of the District.

C. Cancellation of Contract

The District reserves the right to cancel the contract resulting from this solicitation in its entirety upon thirty (30) days' written notice at no cost except for products/services rendered. Such cancellation would be reserved for unsatisfactory service, discontinuation in District funding, reduction in enrollment, or change in scope of District programs and/or policies.

D. Hold Harmless

Contractor agrees to indemnify and to hold free and harmless the District, its officers, employees and agents, from all loss, liability, damages, costs or expenses (including reasonable legal expenses and court costs) that may or might at any time arise or be asserted against District, its officers, employees and agents, arising by reason of, in the course of, or in connection with, the performance of this contract including any loss, liability, damages, costs or expenses resulting from the sole negligence of the contractor, or both contractor and District, but excluding any loss, liability, damages, costs or expense resulting from the sole negligence of the District.

The indemnification shall include, but is not limited to, liability of any nature or kind whatsoever, on account of use by the publisher or author, manufacturer or agent, of any copyrighted or uncopyrighted composition, secret process, patented or unpatented invention, article or appliance furnished or used under this solicitation and any resulting contract.

E. Protection of Work and Property

The Contractor shall be responsible for all damages to persons or property that occur as a result of his/her fault or negligence in connection with the execution of this contract and shall be responsible for the proper care and protection of District property and all materials provided. All work shall be performed solely at the Contractor's risk. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions for safety of all personnel on the work site and shall comply with all applicable safety laws and codes to prevent accidents or injury to persons on or about the premises where work is being performed.

F. Right to Reject/Waive

The District reserves the right to reject any or all offers, or to waive any minor irregularities or informalities in any offer, or in the solicitation process.

The District also reserves the right to waive minor variations in specifications and evaluate offerings and make awards considering the equipment and services being offered. Offers varying from District specifications in any major detail are not solicited and are automatically disqualified. The District's opinion shall be final.

G. Insurance Contractor shall take out and maintain, during the life of this contract, such public liability and property damage insurance in an amount not less than $1,000,000.00; fire insurance in an amount not less than full replacement cost, and insurance covering special hazards such as

TERMS AND CONDITIONS automotive and trucks, in an amount not less than $1,000,000.00, as shall protect Contractor and the District from all claims for personal injury, including accidental death, as well as all claims of property damage arising from operations under this contract. District shall be added as an insured under said policies of insurance. Said policies of insurance shall provide for a 30-day written notice to District before cancellation or material change. Contractor shall require its subcontractors, if any, to take out and maintain similar public liability and property damage insurance in amounts as hereinafter set forth. Contractor shall not commence work nor shall it allow any subcontractor to commence work under this contract until it has obtained all required insurance and certificates, which have been delivered to and approved by the District Purchasing and Contracts Director.

21. DELIVERY/INVOICING

A. Conformity To Specifications

All products and services furnished as a result of this solicitation must comply with the specifications cited herein. Materials, equipment, and services provided are subject to inspection and approval after delivery. The District reserves the right to reject any portion of a shipment or service that is defective or fails to comply with the specifications, without invalidating the remainder of the order. Such rejection will be at the risk and expense of the contractor.

All equipment must be new; never pre-owned or used. Demonstrator units are considered used and are not acceptable to the District.

B. Delivery Terms

Delivery terms are FOB Destination to any District facility within the San Diego metropolitan area. The delivery point will be provided on the Purchase Order. Prices offered shall reflect FOB Destination/Inside Delivery/Installation (e.g. no delivery charge). Delivery does not constitute acceptance.

C. Invoicing / Payment Terms

The District’s payment terms are Net 30 days after receipt of invoice and acceptance of products/services. Invoices citing cash discounts for early payment of invoices of less than 15 days will be paid as NET 30. Cash discounts, when given, will be figured from date of receipt of auditable invoices, provided complete delivery and acceptance of the order has been made. If tests are necessary, cash discounts will be figured from date of acceptance of test report.

22. SECTION 508

Vendor hereby warrants that the products or services to be provided under this agreement/purchase order comply with the accessibility requirements of section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 U.S.C. § 794d), and its implementing regulations set forth at Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, part 1194. Vendor agrees to promptly respond to and resolve any complaint regarding accessibility of its products or services, which is brought to its attention. Vendor further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, the Chancellor’s Office of the California Community Colleges, and any California community college using the vendor’s products or services from any claim arising out of its failure to comply with the aforesaid requirements. Failure to comply with these requirements shall constitute a breach and be grounds for termination of this agreement.

DESIGNATION OF SUBCONTRACTORS

In compliance with the Subletting and Subcontracting Fair Practices Act (chapter 4 (commencing at section

4100), part 1, division 2 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California) and any amendments thereof,

each bidder shall set forth below: (a) the name and the location of the place of business and (b) the portion of

the work which will be done by each subcontractor who will perform work or labor or render service to the

prime contractor in or about the construction of the work or improvement to be performed under this Contract

or a subcontractor licensed by the State of California who, under subcontract to the prime contractor, specially

fabricates and installs a portion of the work or improvement according to detailed drawings contained in the

plans and specifications in an amount in excess of one-half (1/2) of one percent (1%) of the prime contractor’s

total bid or ten thousand dollars($10,000), whichever is greater. The prime contractor shall list only one

subcontractor for each such portion as is defined by the prime contractor in this bid. Bidders are required

to submit the phone number, license number and license expiration date of each subcontractor

listed in its bid with in twenty-four (24) hours of bid opening. No time extension will be allowed for

submission of information required by this document.

If a prime contractor fails to specify a subcontractor or if a prime contractor specifies more than one

subcontractor for the same portion of work to be performed under the Contract in excess of one-half (1/2) of

one percent (1%) of the prime contractor’s total bid, or ten thousand dollars ($10,000), whichever is greater,

he shall be deemed to have agreed that he is fully qualified to perform that portion himself, and that he shall

perform that portion himself.

No prime contractor whose bid is accepted shall (a) substitute any subcontractor, (b) permit any subcontract

to be voluntarily assigned or transferred or allow it to be performed by anyone other than the original

subcontractor listed in the original bid, or (c) sublet or subcontract any portion of the work in excess of one-

half of one percent of the prime contractor’s total bid as to which his original bid did not designate a

subcontractor, except as authorized in the Subletting and Subcontracting Fair Practices Act. Subletting or

1. INTRODUCTION

Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District oversees two colleges, Grossmont College, located at 8800 Grossmont College, El Cajon, CA 92020, and Cuyamaca College located at 900 Rancho San Diego Parkway, El Cajon, CA 92019. The two sites have a combined enrollment of over 26,000 students and the District employs over 2,000 full and part-time employees. The Grossmont College Campus is comprised of 38 existing buildings of varying sizes. The Cuyamaca College Campus is comprised of 24 existing buildings of varying size. The telecommunications and network cable plant exists inside of all buildings and between buildings on both campuses. The cable plant has varying levels of exiting conductors including Cat 3, Cat 5, Cat 6, fiber optic, and air blown fiber optic.

The District is inviting bids for hourly labor rates for services relating to the maintenance, expansion, and modification services of the telecommunications and network cable plant. The District reserves the right to do cable plant installation, maintenance, expansion, and modification services with District employees and other contractors at its discretion. All new construction is specifically exempt from and not a part of this Bid.

2. DEFINITION OF TERMS

The designation of DISTRICT refers to the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, a political subdivision of the State of California. Throughout this document, the term DISTRICT shall be used to designate the rights and responsibilities of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District. The term BIDDER refers to companies which choose to submit bids for services as outlined in this Request for Bid regarding the District’s telecommunication and network cable plant services at the two college sites.

The term CONTRACTOR shall be used to designate the rights and responsibilities of the successful firm responding to this Bid. The terms BIDDERS and BIDDERS are used interchangeably throughout this document. However, technically this instrument is a REQUEST FOR BID. Both of these terms refer to companies which choose to submit bids for services as outlined in this Request for Bid regarding the District’s telecommunication and network cable plant services at the two college sites.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. SITE CONDITIONS: All bidders will be required to stipulate in their bid that it is fully aware of the

obvious site conditions. Failure to be aware of the obvious site conditions will not relieve the selected Contractor of the obligation to perform the contract according to the terms and conditions thereof; further, any lack of awareness of the obvious site conditions will not impose any additional expense to the District. The Contractor is responsible for taking all necessary steps to ascertain the nature and location of the work and the general and local conditions, which can affect the work or the cost thereof.

2. BID INSTRUCTIONS: Bids to receive consideration shall be made in accordance with the following instructions:

Bids shall be made upon this form and properly executed. Bids shall be written in ink or typewritten

before submission. Bids are to be verified, as they cannot be corrected after bids are opened. The signature of all persons signing shall be in longhand. The completed form shall be without interlineations, alterations, or erasures. Alternative Bids will not be considered unless requested in the specifications. No oral or telegraphic modifications will be considered. One original document and (1) one copy must be submitted.

3. AGREEMENT: The form of agreement, which the successful bidder, as Contractor, will be required to

execute, is included in the Contract Documents and should be carefully examined by the bidder. The agreement will be executed in two (2) original counterparts. The complete contract consists of the following documents: Notice to Bidders, the Information for Bidders, the Accepted Bid, the Specifications, and the Agreement, including all modifications thereof duly incorporated therein, and the Purchase Order, if applicable. All of the above documents are intended to cooperate and be complementary so that any instructions or requirements called for in one and not mentioned in the other, or vice versa, are to be executed the same as if mentioned in all said documents. The intention of the documents is to include all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and services necessary for the proper delivery and installation of all items called for in the contract.

4. BIDDERS INTERESTED IN MORE THAN ONE BID: No person, firm, or corporation shall be allowed

to make or file or be interested in more than one bid for the same work, unless alternate bids are called for. A person, firm, or corporation submitting a sub-bid to a bidder, or who has quoted prices on materials to a bidder, is not thereby disqualified from submitting a sub-bid or quoting prices to other bidders.

5. METHOD OF EVALUATION AND/OR AWARD: Each bid shall be evaluated based on the following

criteria (not ranked):

a. References from at least three existing clients, preferably in San Diego County. b. Cost of services. c. Quality and number of certified installers.

The District will evaluate and then rank all bids which meet all of the bidding requirements specified herein. Ranking will be based on the highest value to the District. The District reserves the sole right to determine acceptability and equivalency of items or services proposed.

REQUIREMENTS

In submitting a Bid, Bidder agrees to the following requirements: Introduction Bidder will provide services to repair, replace, modify, and maintain the existing network and telecommunications cable plant. Typical activities will be under the direction of District representatives, install new category 6 cable in existing campus buildings or between campus buildings as directed by District. Evaluate in-place cable suspected of being defective. Tone and test existing cable. Troubleshoot telephone problems. Troubleshoot and repair outdoor emergency phones. Update the wiring records. Provide recommendations and service to maintain the integrity of the network and telecommunications cable plant. Electrical and building codes, standards and guidelines govern the installation practices and materials used in the construction of telecommunications facilities. Plywood Backboards All plywood backboards shall meet the following minimum requirements: All plywood shall be void free 3/4 inch x 4 foot x 8 foot, mounted vertically or as close to the maximum

dimension as possible. All plywood shall be smooth on one side with the smooth side exposed. The plywood shall be painted on all six sides with a light color fire retardant paint. The plywood shall be securely anchored to the wall. In hollow wall construction toggle bolts shall be used to fasten the plywood to the wall. Steel expansion anchors shall be used to fasten the plywood to solid concrete walls. Blue board backboards will be acceptable in locations which cannot accommodate 4X8 foot plywood.

Termination frames All new distribution and protector frames and the terminal hardware MUST be the same as what

GCCCD is presently using. This equipment is part of the Cross-Connect System. It should be sized to accommodate initial requirements plus twenty five percent growth.

Refer to the material list for all part numbers of the required equipment. NO SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE PERMITTED unless approved, in advance, by the District’s Information Systems Department.

Where new frames are required, the new frames will be butted to and aligned with the existing frames. All frames will be installed and grounded in accordance with the manufacturer's and industry standard

practices and all applicable building codes. Installation and Termination Details All work and material will comply with all Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District Building

Standards, federal and state laws, municipal ordinances, codes, regulations, and direction of inspectors appointed by proper authorities having jurisdiction.

If there are any violations of codes, the contractor / vendor will correct the deficiency at no cost to the District.

Working conditions must meet the industry standards for safety and work procedures, and protection of property established by prevailing rules, regulations, codes, and ordinances.

Workmanship and neat appearance shall be as important as the mechanical and electrical efficiency of the system.

All cables and wires shall be placed in a proper raceway or cable management equipment and be self supported.

Cable and equipment must be firmly anchored. Fasteners and supports shall be adequate to support loads with ample safety factors. Cable shall not be formed into a condition that causes the outside sheath to wrinkle or exceed the

recommended bend radius of the cable. All work areas shall be cleared of all litter, and the litter properly disposed of by the contractor on a

daily basis. Any unusual water seepage in manholes, IDF or MDF's should be reported promptly to the District’s

Information Systems Department. All cables, terminating blocks, and terminals will be marked to conform to the existing District’s

Telecommunications Numbering System. Only 110 CROSS-CONNECTION terminating blocks shall be used in the IDF and MDF for the

termination of phone cables. All fiber optic cable enclosures shall be equipped with all materials required for a complete installation. An appropriate connecting tool shall be used for all terminations. On patch panels and jacks using 110 blocks the proper 110 punch-down tool must be used. All copper patch panels, cross connect fields, and jacks shall use 66 blocks if existing or 110 block

terminations. No copper or fiber patch panel, cross connect field, or jack shall be located in a closed ceiling cavity or

other location not readily accessible for repair and modification.

CONTRACT RENEWAL OPTION

The District reserves the right to consider the extension of this contract for four additional one-year periods. Time of such extension is to begin the day after the end of the current term of the contract and end four years thereafter. Contractor performance will be a major factor in determining whether to exercise the renewal option. By submitting this bid, the bidder accepts the District’s option to extend the contract.
