C an you believe that it is almost here? We have been waiting a
long time to break ground on the new building and the time has finally arrived. On Sunday, July 14th, at 11:00 AM we will have our Ground Breaking Ceremony. We will be celebrating God’s faithfulness. I hope you will make every effort to be there for the ceremony as we give God glory for what He is doing in our midst.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for giving sacrificially towards the building project. It is because of your generosity and faithfulness in giving that over half of the total project cost has already been given, and we haven’t even put a shovel in the ground yet. Praise God for you!
I know this is a daunting task, but remember God is Able! That has been our theme from the very beginning of this project. We need to continue to remember that Ephesians 3:20 tells us that our God “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.” It is God who has led us down this journey, and it is God who will see it through as we seek to advance His Kingdom through this project and the future use of the new building. Praise be to God!
For His glory,
Pastor Dave

RMBC on MISSIONS Summer kicks off the time of year
when our church becomes the
hands and feet of Christ. We have
three mission trips planned: Moldova (leaving on July 4th), Fuge (our
youth on missions), and West
Virginia (it’s not too late to sign up).
Please be in prayer for all those
going. Pray for safety and protection.
Pray for boldness. Pray for peace,
wisdom and joy. Pray for the ones being ministered to. Pray.
Romans 10:13-14 says; “for, “Everyone who calls on the name of
the Lord will be saved.” How, then,
can they call on the one they have not
believed in? And how can they believe
in the one of whom they have not
heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”

LOL!
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. -Proverbs 17:22
A small-town couple was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and their long, loving relationship had long been the talk of the town. For this special occasion, a local newspaper reporter paid them a visit to in-quire as to the secret of their happy mar-riage.
"Well," explained the husband, "it really all goes back to our honeymoon. We visited the Grand Canyon and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon by pack mule. We hadn't gone too far when my wife's mule stumbled. My wife quietly said 'That's once.' We proceeded a little farther when the mule stumbled again. Once more my wife quietly spoke: 'That's twice.' We hadn't gone a half-mile when the mule stumbled a third time. My wife promptly removed a revolver from her purse, hopped down off the beast, and shot the mule dead. I began to protest over her treatment of the mule when she looked at me and quietly said, 'That's once.'''
I hope you liked that. Now, I've heard that children laugh 300 to 400 times a day while we adults laugh only a mere 15! Believe it or not, experts say that laughing aids diges-tion, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, increases muscle flexion, boosts the immune system, triggers the release of endorphins which are the body's natural painkillers, heals broken relationships and produces a general sense of well-being!
Let's not take everything so very seriously! Let's start laughing at ourselves a little, and laughing at our enemy's attempts to keep us burdened and oppressed! God has our vic-tory --always! And there's so much work to be done!

Honoring Faithfulness
“Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers who are with them. Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the
saints who are with them.” -Romans 16:14-15
Today we come to the last set of greetings that Paul
gives to particular believers in the ancient Roman church. As we prepare to consider this last set of
names, it will be helpful for us to review the purposes
of these greetings. The obvious reason for them is that
the Apostle wanted to say hello to the Roman
Christians whom he knew personally or through the testimony of other believers. Yet that is not the only
purpose for the greetings.
We have easy access to paper and pens, but in the
ancient world this was not so. Writing materials,
including scrolls and sheets of papyrus, were
expensive, and it was important to make the most of
whatever space you had when you wrote to others. Paul fills the valuable space of Romans 16 with more
than just names; he also notes and praises much of
what these men and women did for the church.
Frequently, he mentions that the people he greets were
hard workers in the Lord (vv. 3, 9, 12), thereby holding
them up as examples to the rest of the church in Rome. John Calvin states that this is purposeful,
designed to inspire the other Roman Christians to
work hard in the Lord as well. He writes, “The
testimonies which [Paul] brings here in favor of some
individuals, were partly intended for this end, that by honoring those who were faithful and worthy,
faithfulness itself might be honored, and that they who
could and would do more good than others.” By
honoring those who had served the church well, the
Apostle meant to encourage others to do the same.
We also find in this list of greetings a reminder of how
the church is to function. The Apostles were key figures in laying the foundation for the church, but
they did not labor alone. From day one, the work of
Christ’s church has been done only through the
contributions of all its members. No one person, not
even an Apostle, can do all that is necessary for the
church to function well. In fact, Paul’s greetings show us how the Apostle relied on the hospitality and labor
of others to get his job done. Christians form one body
that is healthy only when all members use their gifts to
serve the Lord and one another (1 Cor. 12).
We do not know anything about the people Paul names
in Romans 16:14-15 except that some of them were
slaves or former slaves, and that some of them volunteered their homes for corporate worship, prayer,
and fellowship. (“The saints who are with them” refers
to Christian gatherings.) These believers took part in
the church’s ministry according to their gifts and
resources. May we always do the same.
Not everyone who works hard for Christ’s church
receives honor and commendation from other people such as we see in Paul’s list of greetings. But even
when no one else commends us for our work, the Lord
sees what we are doing, and it is His evaluation that
matters. Let us all serve the Lord in gratitude for our
once-for-all salvation so that we will one day hear
these words from God Himself: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
