Camp hours are 9:00 am - 4:00 pm unless otherwise stated. Remember that your child(ren) have spent a long, fun-filled day at camp. Please pick them up on time. Participants not picked up on time may be subject to a late fee charge. Please see our website for details.

ANIMAL ADVENTURE TRIPPERSThis program is for campers who love animals. Participants will learn about the habitat, care and characteristics of various animals. Campers will embark on an adventure once a week to an animal-themed attraction. Trip and bus fees are included in the price of the program. Please contact your local recreation centre for more information about weekly destinations. Campers may also participate in various camp activities such as cooperative games, sports, water activities and crafts. These activities vary by location. CIRCUS SCHOOL Campers who have always wanted to join the circus will have the opportunity to try several circus arts such as acrobatics, juggling, slackline walking, mini-trampoline and hoops. COMPETITIVE WATER SPORTS Campers will enjoy playing various pool based team sports including inner tube water polo, Waboba Ball, water volleyball, underwater hockey and more. CREATIVE WRITING Using storytelling exercises, dialogue, dreams and other techniques, children create their own stories and produce an illustrated book. Advanced singing, acting and dancing techniques will be explored. ENGINEERING LEGO® BUILDERS 1 Participants will develop their social skills and deepen their understanding of the world around them using Duplo LEGO® bricks. Each week a new theme will help them explore and learn about their communities through discussions, building activities, role-playing, and idea sharing. Participants will be provided with the opportunity to explore the world beyond their immediate surroundings while learning new vocabulary about people, places, and things in real life. Some of the themes may include: own town, my home, community helpers, healthcare workers, shopping, and places to eat. STANDARD FIRST AID AND SAFEGUARD Get ready to become a Recreation Leader and join this camp to receive yourqualificationsthroughtheLifesavingSociety for Standard First Aid (SFA) with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR-C) andAutomatedExternalDifibrillation(AED)and Safeguard. This course will work on improving their teambuilding and leadership skills through games and activities. SFA incorporates Emergency First Aid topics with a more in-depth understanding of firstaidincluding:legalimplicationsoffirstaidtreatment,spinalinjuries,heatorcold injuries, bone and joint injuries, chest injuries, and medical emergencies. This course also covers all aspects of CPR skills and theory for adult, child and infant victims including two rescuer CPR skills. CPR-C includestheimportanceofearlydefibrillationandhowtouseanAED.Certificationisdependent upon a successfully passing

the examination at the end of the course. Safeguard is safety supervision training for guardians (e.g, day camp counsellors, counsellors-in-training and others), who accompany groups of young people to pools or waterfronts. The course stresses the responsibility undertaken by these group leaders for safeguarding the young people in their care even when under lifeguard supervision. Safeguard focuses on water safety awareness, accident prevention and the principles of aquatic safety supervision. individuals with disabilities will be contacted by phone to set upapre-campvisitortelephonemeetingwithoneofourstaffto fully assess your camper’s needs to ensure a successful camp experience.

•Allprogramsforindividualswithdisabilitiesworkwithstaffingratios of two-to-one in children’s settings and three-to-one in teen and adult settings.

• Services for individuals with needs that require one-to-one supervision are available and can be arranged through the Recreation Division for an additional fee. Individuals requiring this service should identify their requirement for one-to-one support and pay the applicable surcharge at the time of registration.
