At this stage the weather forecast for Tuesday evening is looking promising. However, if nothing else, Auckland's weather is changeable so almost anything could happen by tomorrow evening! Given the vagaries of our weather we have three plans and they are all incredible! Plan A Our preferred plan: On the field starting at 5.30 pm on Tuesday 16 December with Yrs 0 - 2 starting at 5.30 pm and Yrs 3 - 6 starting at about 6.00 pm with a finish time being about 6.40 pm. If at all possible we will proceed with the concerts at these times. This means that if it is marginal it is likely we will go ahead as the forecast for Wednesday is dismal. Plan B First back up plan - providing the weather allows: On the field starting at 11.00 am on Wednesday 17 December with Yrs 0 - 2 followed by Yrs 3 - 6 at about 12.00 noon with a final assembly (on the field) to follow the conclusion of the concert. Plan C If it is still wet on Wednesday, the chorus will be in the PA Rooms facing the door (and the doors will be wide open) with soloists on the veranda. Members of the audience can stand in front of the PA Rooms. Of course this is far from ideal but it will provide an opportunity for our children to perform and for them to be seen - well as 'seen' as is possible under the circumstances. There would be three concerts starting at 11.00 am: Yrs 0 - 2 followed by Yrs 3 and 4 (at about 11.30 am) followed by Yrs 5 and 6 (at about 12. noon). Yrs 0 - 4 would be dismissed for the year from their classrooms at 12.30 pm and Yrs 5 and 6 would be dismissed for the year from the PA Room at the conclusion of their concert. Performing out doors in Auckland always comes with risks. We cannot move to the hall as there simply is not enough room. We tried that several years ago and the sheer numbers in the audience made it something we would not repeat. Please bear with us as we bear with the vicissitudes of Auckland's weather and work to provide you with the best end of year concerts we can given the circumstances and our resources. Farewell Bruce We have been true to Bruce's wishes (mostly) in keeping his farewell low key. Bruce was presented with a gift as a thank you from the school on Thursday and on Friday at the Year 5 and 6 singing a optimist yacht from Pupuke Waterwise was unveiled with his name on it. Bruce will live on at waterwise! It is not too late to write a message in his farewell/thank you book in the office foyer. End of Year Concert Please refer to the school's website from 10am onwards tomorrow, as we will be providing regular concert updates on what plan we will be implementing. https://sites.google.com/a/ cbsprimary.org/ campbellsbayschool/

Vodafone Warriors visit CBS

Last Monday the CBS Warriors had some VIP's visit their Training, two players from the real Warriors, Sam Cook and David Bhana. This was the highlight of the season.

Many thanks to coach Jeff (Taylor's Dad ) for the extra effort in organising this special event. The boys were so excited and learnt a few new skills and tricks.

Hockey Success continues with Term 4 Summer Hockey

Hockey is alive and well at CBS! After a very successful winter hockey season at the end of Terms 3 and 4, we moved in to summer hockey this term. The enthusiasm for the game continued and we had a record number of hockey teams in the Summer Hockey Competition. CBS was represented by 17 teams! Some of our younger junior students were able to give hockey a go and joined in the fun and we were able to enter 8 teams in the Year 3/4 competition. It is fantastic and so exciting to see so many new players to the game. The successful running of hockey at CBS relies on parents volunteering their time to help coach and manage the teams. A huge thank you goes to everyone who has been involved with hockey this term. It is greatly appreciated. Many of our CBS teams finished the Summer Hockey Competition very strongly and five of our teams were winners of their respective grades. Congratulations to the following teams and players who were part of this amazing achievement:

CBS Manta rays: Joe Leith, Spencer Marran, Ryan Knight, Justin Ellington, Alan Sun and Callum Keer-Keer.

Joint winners of the Boys Yr. 1/2 Grade. CBS Stingrays: Theo Manning, Jamie Maunder, Oliver Day, Toby

Worrall, Luca Anderson and Ben Davidson. Joint winners of the Boys Yr. 1/2 Grade. CBS Storm: Taylor Haslemore, Coco Mauger, Libby Cairns,

Monique Ellington, Georgia Luxford, Mikayla Crawford and Isabel McQueen-Hilig. Winners of Yr. 3/4 Girls Grade.

CBS Griffins: McKenzie Marran, James Kelly, Leon Henderson, Jordan Burbidge, Louis Stillman, Thomas Christopher and Daniel Rea. Winners of Yr. 3/4 Boys C Grade.

CBS Eagles: Cameron McGlashan, Alex Logan, Cameron Maunder, Lucas Day, Cambell Brighouse and Callum Walker. Winners of Yr. 3/4 Boys A Grade.

What an amazing year of hockey we’ve had. Thank you to all the players, coaches, managers and supporters who have made it possible and have done CBS proud. I look forward to another year of fun and success next year.

Keri Maunder—Hockey Co-Ordinator

Flippaball The last games of the year were played yesterday and it was wonderful to see the improvement in all the teams from the beginning of the year. Thank you to the coaches and managers who have made this possible and to all the parents who support the children every week. Well done to all our wonderful CBS players who have worked hard in the pool all year. You rock! Congratulations in particular to our two teams who made their grade finals. The CBS Penguins is an all girls team who were at the very bottom of their division in Term 1 so it is significant progress that they made it to the top 2 in Term 4. They were over powered by a stronger team, but 2nd is awesome girls! Our top Anacondas team made have made it to the A grade finals every term this year against the same Murrays Bay team. CBS have won twice and were very keen to go out on a win, but Murrays Bay played the better game on the night and evened it up to 2 all. Congratulations to the Anacondas on a very impressive consistent position at the top. Please go to the Sports Results page to see the individual team reports and to the Campbells Bay School Sports Facebook page to see lots more photos from yesterday.
