5 Main Ideas of a lesson

1. Cardiovascular System transports needed materials to cells and takes away all wastes produced from cells

2. The heart pumps blood throughout human body

3. Blood vessels and its organs transport blood in human body

4. The lymphatic system sends materials which escaped from the main blood stream back to the blood stream

5. The respiratory system is responsible for oxygen and carbon dioxide movement in the human body

The Heart

● Hollow muscular organ

● Help blood flow in the human body

Atriums VS. Ventricles● Left ventricle pumps blood to

entire body, while right ventricle pumps blood only to lungs

● Left atrium receives oxygen rich blood from lungs. Right atrium receives oxygen poor blood from the body cells.

Steps of Blood Flow1. Oxygen poor blood (from body) enters the right atrium2. Blood goes to right ventricle and is pumped to the lungs. 3. At the lungs carbon dioxide is release from the blood and it receives oxygen. 4. The oxygen rich blood returns to the left atrium.5. The blood goes to the left ventricle and is pumped to the aorta.6. The aorta pumps oxygen-rich blood to the entire body.

Valves

● Pacemaker is located in a heart whose job is to send signals that make heart contract.

● Valve is a flap which separates heart into chambers which prevents blood from flowing backward.

Difference between blood vessels

Arteries: the arteries look red. It carries blood from the heart to lungs and body. Veins: vein is blue colored and it carries low oxygen blood. it carries blood back to heart from lungs and body. Capillaries:capillaries is purple, and it is located in the middle of the vein and arteries. carries blood by diffusion (high to low concentration)

What is the Lymphatic System?

● Lymphatic system is a network of vein-like vessels that returns the fluid to the bloodstream

● Fluid is something that leaks out when blood travels through the capillaries in cardiovascular system.

Functions of Lymphatic System1. Removes useless substances from body tissues.

2. Contains white blood cells, which help the immune system.

Parts of Lymphatic System ● Lymph is fluid inside the lymphatic system that

contains water and dissolve materials such as glucose.

● Lymph nodes are filters or traps for bacteria. They contain white blood cells to fight bacteria.

Lymphatic Disease● There is Lymphatic disease which was

named Lymphoma or Lymphatic cancer.

● Lymphoma is when cells of the lymphatic system grow not normally, they divide too rapidly and grow without any order or control.

Taking air into the body through the nose and mouth is called inhalation.Pushing air out of the body through the nose or mouth is called exhalation.

Path of AirFive steps of how we breathe oxygen...1.)At first air enters the body through two nostrils(or nose)2.)Then air moves from nose to pharynx (throat)3.)The trachea (windpipe)leads from the pharynx toward the lungs4.)From trachea air goes to bronchi( There are left and right bronchi)5.)When air reaches lungs, it moves through smaller airways (bronchioles)until it reaches alveoli (description and picture of alveoli)

Alveoli is Important Alveoli is extremely important part of respiratory! WHY?● Because alveoli is a place where gas exchange

occur and it moves gases between blood and air. Without gas exchange carbon dioxide would stay in our blood

● Basically we could not breath out carbon dioxide
