RSo, what matters most when choosing a career path?

Changing the world? Helping people? Taking risks? Expressing yourself? Doing something you love?

The journey to finding theright career can

be a long one.

Let us help...

The Horticulture department prides itself on having a very fine program for students planning to enter the field of horticulture and for people already working in the Green Industry who wish to expand and update their horticultural knowledge.

The horticulture program at Orange Coast College prepares students to be landscape contractors, arborists, landscape designers, greenhouse managers, pest and disease controllers, nursery operators, interior plantscapers, and many more career options.

“The issues the planet is facing in relation to climate change, water shortages, pressures on land usage and vastly increasing population will result in a shift in focus and I believe that horticulture will become recognised as one of the most important industries of all.” Mark Lumsdon-Taylor, director of finance and resources at Kent's Hadlow College.

Most classes are offered during convenient evening hours, allowing working students to study for a new career, and for those with jobs in the field to upgrade their skills.

The beauty of horticulture as a career option is that it lets you carve out a niche that meets your own talents and aspirations, whatever they may be.
