Events in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter this Christmas...Throughout the months of November and December, the Cathedral Quarter is transformed into a winter wonderland with streets adorned with festive lights and decorations.
There is an abundance of live outdoor entertainment throughout the area, suitable for all the family and sure to get you in the Christmas mood. As always, the Market Place will be a hive of festive activity with the Cathedral Quarter 3aaa Ice Rink taking centre stage whilst Saturdays sees a Cathedral Quarter favourite, CQ Saturdays Knickerbocker Glorious, with free live local entertainment. Late night shopping will go with a swing with live music on offer whilst Derby Night Market offers fantastic opportunities to pick up that unique gift for loved ones.
There are also a number of fantastic indoor venues all of whom have packed festive agendas providing entertainment for all the family. The Quad on the Market Place will be hosting Christmas film classics throughout December whilst Deda has an eclectic mix of entertainment which will appeal to a wide ranging audience, from theatre and story-telling to Cabaret and musical performances in the Cube Cafe. The Guildhall Theatre is the place for amateur theatre performances and Christmas Pirate
adventures whilst the magnificent Derby Cathedral, standing proud at the top of Iron Gate, will be hosting atmospheric concerts and Christmas carol services throughout the festive season. There are activities galore at the Museum and Art Gallery and The Silk Mill Museum, as well as fascinating exhibitions and workshops, providing fun for all the family!
So, whatever your Christmas wish, there’s something to keep everyone entertained in the Cathedral Quarter this Christmas.
