Rev. Dennis E. Glad, B.A., MDiv., S.T.M., is a retiredelder in the UMC Minnesota Annual Conference and Barbara L. Glad, isa retired Registered Nurse.
They have been UMVIM Co-coordinators for the past 23 years, leadingover 800 volunteers on 33 teams to the Caribbean islands and CentralAmerica. They have worked on 14 Caribbean islands and have traveledextensively on other islands in the Caribbean.
The Glads have 3 sons and 6 grandchildren, including 2 sets of twins, and1 great-grandchild.

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin IslandsThe town of Charlotte Amalie has one of the most breathtaking harbors in the world.Once home to pirates of long ago, today visitors find treasures of a different kind, fornow beautiful beaches and bountiful duty-free shopping are truly its claim to fame.Mission Opportunity: Visit a local Methodist Pre School and participate in their morningdevotions and join them in worship songs. Visit a local Methodist Church and enjoy theopportunity to hear a local Steel Band. Next you will travel to a Methodist Church in Bovoniand learn about their readiness to build a second floor to their church. If time permits, thegroup will enjoy a visit to Morningstar or Magen Bay beaches before returning to the ship.
Roseau, DominicaCascading waterfalls, thermal springs and scenic pleasures abound on this ruggedly beautifulisland.Mission Opportunity: Enjoy a visit with a Methodist church in Roseau, and learn about the repairsneeded to the porch on the manse next to the church. Travel through the Carib Indian Territory, andshop for hand made baskets and other items made by the indigenous people. Continue to a Methodistchurch in Wesley Village which is in need of extensive renovations, where you will have lunch. Yourlast stop today will be Portsmouth where you will visit a church and hall recently rebuilt after beingdestroyed in an earthquake in 2004.
Bridgetown, BarbadosThe most British of all the Caribbean islands, games of cricket are as common here as the typicalisland water sports.Mission Opportunity: Today you will vist missions projects in the Ebenezer Circuit, St. Philip.Repairs are needed to leaking roofs at Ebenezer & Shrewsbury Chapels. Renovations are being madeto a building at Shrewsbury, and restrooms are being built at a church in Beulah. Lunch will be pro-vided at Shrewsbury Chapel.
Castries, St. LuciaA mecca for outdoor enthusiasts with thriving coral reefs and rain forest preserves. Mission Opportunity: At Gros Inlet you will visit a congregation that had to stop construction ona church building due to lack of funds. You will then return to Castries to enjoy the SaturdayMarket, where you will have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs and to try the local cuisineand fresh fruits. Next you will visit Wesley Hall which is currently under construction. Thegroup will have the opportunity to meet the South Caribbean District Superintendents and havea light snack with them. Your last visit is to a Methodist church in Forrestiere. They are a con-gregation of descendants from India located in a rural area near the mountaintop. You willenjoy hearing the story of how they got from India to St. Lucia.
Philipsburg, St. MaartenWith an area of only 37 square miles, the island of St. Maarten is the smallest land-mass in the world to be divided between two governments. Mission Opportunity: This morning you will worship in a Methodist Church onthe Dutch side of the island, followed by a light snack at the church. In the after-noon you will visit a church located on the Dutch side that is in the process ofbuilding a new chapel. On the French side you will visit a church that is con-structing a new manse, as well as another church that is constructing a new hall.If time permits you will visit a beach area for time to swim before returningto the ship.

If one is notavailable or you request a single room/cabin, the single room/cabin charge of 200%applies. Itinerary and Changes: Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of thisinformation; however, the order of itinerary and number of days may be altered toaccommodate changes in cruise schedules and weather. The cruise line has the ulti-mate control over your voyage and may, without notice, alter the length of the cruiseand the order of and/or inclusion of ports. EOT is in no way responsible for thesechanges and does not make reimbursement for such changes.Cancellation Fees: The optional Travel Protection Program covers 100% ofCancellation Fees, provided premium has been paid and reason for cancella-tion is insurable. Those who do not take travel protection should be aware ofthe of the following cancellation penalties: From Day of registration to 121days prior to departure, you will be charged a $100 non-refundable cancella-tion fee plus any airline fees. Additionally, thereafter, you will be charged d asingle room supplement if your cancellation forces your roommate into a sin-gle plus the following charges also apply: 120-105 days prior to departure =$400; 104-60 days prior to departure = $600; 59-30 days prior to departure =75%; 29 days to day of departure = 100% of cost.Cancellation must be submitted in writing. On or after day of departure, norefund for any services not used. REGISTRATIONS RECEIVED 90 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE OR LESS: Wewelcome registrations after September 14, 2013. Release Information: Payment of deposit indicates permission for EOT orits agents to record the registrant’s participation and appearance on videotape, audio tape, film, photograph, or any other medium and to use the reg-istrant’s name, likeness, voice, comments, submitted documentation, writ-ten papers, and/or biographical material without restrictions or limitation forany advertising, marketing, publicity, educational or promotional purposewhich EOT or its agents deem appropriate, unless the registrant or guardianotherwise notifies EOT in writing prior to departure.
Except where otherwise stated, EOT acts only as agent for the relevant sup-plier in securing hotels, transportation and other travel services and in noevent shall EOT be liable for failure by any such supplier to render anytransportation, lodging or other travel service to be provided on the tour.EOT assumes no liability for injury, death, damage, loss, accident, delay orirregularity which may occur by reason of any negligent or willful act or omis-sion of any suppliers of service. This is a brief description of the plan available for all Travel Protection sales for Trips departing January 1, 2013 and after. Certain exclusions and limitations apply and are detailed in theCertificate of Coverage. For example, coverage does not apply to: any Sickness or condition of you, a Traveling Companion or a Family Member traveling with you that existed during the 60days prior to the effective date of the coverages (this exclusion is waived if payment for this plan is received at or before the initial deposit/payment for your Trip), suicide, normal pregnancy,war or any act of war. Other Covered Reasons, as defined, includes the following events or their consequences: Cancellation or Interruption of your Trip due to: Inclement Weather, unannouncedStrike, mechanical breakdown that causes complete cessation of services of Your Common Carrier for at least 12 consecutive hours; a documented traffic accident while enroute to departure;being hijacked or quarantined; jury duty; destruction of your home or destination by fire, flood, burglary or natural disaster; being called to the emergency service of government to provide aidor relief in the event of a natural disaster; a documented theft of passports or visas; a transfer of employment of 250 miles or more; or Revocation of military leave.
