Forgiveness: The Greatest Gift of All

When someone hurts you—whether it’s a spouse, friend, coworker, or neighbor—it can

be difficult to forgive and forget. But holding a grudge

and holding your anger inside isn’t healthy for you.

Forgiveness releases the harmful feeling you harbor

and allows you to move on with your life.

Here are some tips on how to forgive someone:

Accept the fact that you’ve been hurt and acknowledge how it makes you feel. It’s

okay to feel angry and upset.

Don’t wait for the other person to approach you. Go to them and tell them how

what they did makes you feel. Tell them you offer forgiveness.

Accept your role in the situation. Forgive yourself if necessary.

Take the process of moving forward one day at a time. It will take time to build a

new relationship.
