The Children's Literature Fes�val (CLF) was first launched in November 2011 in Lahore inaugurated by the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shabaz Sharif. Founded by Baela Raza Jamil CEO Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) and co-founded by Ameena Saiyid of the Oxford University Press (OUP). It has been held in 45 loca�ons, and reached over a million children, teachers and families across Pakistan; from Peshawar, Swat, Mardan, Swabi to Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Que�a, Gwadar to Ghotki, Sukkur, Larkana, Mithi, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Jamshoro and Karachi!. CLF is an Equalizer, a Social Movement, for Unlocking the Power of Reading & Learning through ALL Senses!

The CLF Walled City Lahore is a unique collabora�on with the Walled City Lahore Authority (WCLA), its visionary leadership and commi�ed teams. “Celebra�ng Peace, Heritage & Seventy Years of Pakistan” the two-day fes�val is packed with renowned resource persons, ambassadors of CLF and ins�tu�ons! The fes�val is honored to serve the children and communi�es in the historic Shahi Qila (the Lahore Fort) on the 13 and 14th January 2018 as an unforge�able experience for ALL! Many students will be showcased as our young talent – poets, authors, musicians, ar�sts and more.

The Children's Literature Fes�val is a free public event to enjoy the art of reading, crea�vity and cri�cal thinking for ALL children, teachers and families! It is open to ALL school systems without any discrimina�on to address the challenges of learning, reviving a culture of reading, and genera�ng content for textbooks, classrooms and supplementary materials. CLF promotes 21st century skills of ci�zenship, mul�-culturalism, diversity, sustainable lifestyles, tolerance, gender equality and more! It is a packed program featuring: interac�ve Storytelling sessions, Harry Po�er booth, the art of book making, talks on how to promote, libraries, heritage, peace and children's literature, book launches, workshops by well-known children's authors, poets, authors and ar�sts; science as prac�ce and imagina�on; tech enabled digital learning, theatre, puppetry, film, calligraphy, comics, sports for peace, interac�ve learning and incredible book stalls!
