The Romanian railway system has

an impresive history for over 125 years.

On the August 20, 1854 the line Oravita-Baziaswas inaugurated as the first railway track on today's territory of Romania.

Great History

On the April 23, 1880 the Romanian Government started the operating

service by bringing from abroad all the necessary steam railway engines.

On the August 26, 1869 the lineBucuresti-Giurgiu for passengers use was finished.

CFR Cltori provides special conditions for the

traffic during the night.

Its specialized branch, CFR Gevaro, ensure, comfort

and safety of its passengers by offering the chance

to travel within the sleeping cars or bert cars on

internal routes, as well as on the international

routes.

CFR Gevaro makes the best of the

restaurant cars that are to be found in

Intercity and Rapid trains, where the

passengers can delight with fine dishes,

prepared with care by skillful cooks.
