Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Inc.’s Maysville factory has been a focal point of the Maysville, Ken-tucky community since its groundbreaking in 1994. The company opened its first production line in 1995 with 65 associates, producing car audio units (radios). The company has seen expansions with its ignition coil pro-duction lines through the construction of its 1703 Downing Drive building and with the recent addition of its electric power steering production line. The 1703 and 1705 Downing Drive buildings rest on 25.4 acres of land with a combined expanse of nearly 455,000 square feet. Currently employing approximately 400 associates, the company expects to add more than 100 to its headcount in the next few years to accommodate continued growth. Maysville Community & Technical College are collecting phones to assist domestic violence victims. You can drop off your used phone at any MCTC cam-pus from Oct 12th- Nov 13th. MCTC is participating in the statewide HopeLine from Verizon project.

Kentucky Gateway Museum Center are rearranging the Museums miniature collection in preparation of the holiday season.

DP&L/ AES has committed $26,000 to the forma-tion of a Canter for Career Development and Experi-mental Learning on the Maysville Campus. The Center should be fully operational by January 1, 2016. For more information contact: (606) 759-7141, ext. 66180

The Maysville Younger Women’s Club and Women’s Crisis Center hosted the annual Community Shower that benefits the Women’s Crisis Center. Items can be donated anytime by contacting: (606) 564-6708

The Maysville Rotary Club sold tickets for a chance to win $5000. Proceeds from the sale are used to sup-port Camp Discovery and two scholarships for MCTC, and Polly’s Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Maysville Younger Women’s Club presented Mason County High School art teacher Stephanie Mar-

tinez with a Christmas ornament of her design. The clubs annual ornament features a black and white pho-tograph of the water fountain on Market Street.

Stober Drives has been selected as a tour site for AME Conference. Stober has been a member of the Association of Manufacturing Excellence since 2010. The company has focused on lean events and trainings. 50 people from across the United States and world vis-ited Stober.

Kentucky Gateway Museum Center hosted a free Saturday Seminar with Guest Speaker: James Columbia, a Maysville native, and self-published author. He spoke on how to Self Publish is affordable and easy. For more information contact: (606) 564-5865.
