The workshop tackled the role of the market intelligence in offering job opportunities and reducing the percentage of unemployed Egyp- tians, which in turn contribute to an increase in GDP and improve the competitiveness of Egyptian products locally and globally. Cooperat- ing with Nottingham College, will help us in creating - the first of its kind- database in the engineering industries sector, that will assure the validity of data and support the development in the Egyptian engineering industries overall” says Engineer Essam Zomor - Execu- tive Director of TVET. About TVET: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) project, is considered one of the main pillars of Chamber of Engineering Industries, that was launched in 2005; to improve the competitiveness of Egyptian enterprises on the domestic and international markets. In coordination with Industrial Training Council, Chamber of Engineering Industries held "Golden Grant press conference at FEI Theatre to illustrate major approcahes to enhance vocational workers' skills. One of these approaches, an annual training course that will be delivered to current vocational workers and new comers at several factories, to improve worker engagement and performance. The annual training course is based upon the protocol signed between the Human Resources Development Committee at CEI and Indus- trial Training Council, with the objective of supporting capacity building in the industrial sector, meeting market's requirements and advocating for the importance of vocational work.In general, CEI seeks to run capacity building workshops for workers in 5000 companies and recruit above 3000 vocational school graduates.Worth mention that CEI is currently investigating its members' needs of workers; to recruit skill- ful workers. The Chamber of Engineering Industries established Technical support & Projects Unit headed by Sameh Nosseir, Former Director of Information Technology & Communication Chamber. The Technical Support Unit consists of six promising young employees, to implement the CEI five-year strategic plan (2012-2017). “Our main focus is to implement the main six goals of the strategic plan” Says Sameh Nosseir- Head of Technical Support Unit. Accordingly, the goals of the strategic plan aim to better serve the memebrs, by supporting and representing members’ interets in the government, draft-ing policies and legislations that improve the Egyptian Industry status, providing appropriate solutions to problems that face industrialists in the engineering sector, applying quality standards to engineering industries, offering training opportunities, providing legal consultations to businessmen and supporting small and medium enterprises.

Press Conference Highlights CEI New Strategy

CEI held a press conference on Wednesday 18th June 2014 , to announce the five- year strategic plan (2012 - 2017), which aims to better serve the members. The press conference was led by Engineer Hatem Kheir, Chairman of Media Committee. Engineer Magd El Menzallawi, Chairman of Strategic Commitee and Vice Chairman of CEI, briefed the audience on the importance of the strategic plan to foster industrial development in Egypt. CEI Board members and chairmen of divisions and committees attended the press conference, they illus-trated their plans to overcome problems that face engineering industries in Egypt.

A delegation from NKOK Economic Zone conducted a business visit to FEI, where they met several industrialists and different members from FEI chambers; to discuss offers that may encourage economic and trade relations between Egypt and Gabon and to promote for NKOK economic zone.Dr.Refky El Badry - CEI Member, led the meeting and asked the delegation questions that identify the opportunities offered by Gabon Economic Zone to Egyptian invetors.

About NKOK Economic Zone:The Nkok SEZ project is being developed through a Public Private Partnership between the Gabonese Government (40% stake) and OLAM International Ltd.
