Charity Ball has passed and I am very appreciative of those of you who helped. We had a good time, good music and good food (thank you Dallas and Sondra). The money we raised From the raffl e prizes went to the Paradise Elks Relief Fund. We are entering a new year and putting together a new team of offi cers. We start our Ritual Practice on January 7th. I am looking forward to working with all of you. Thank you everyone who participated in my Leading Knight Challenge. With Valerie’s help from the Autumn Boutique bringing in $268 and my Jelly Belly guessing events which brought in $173 we made a total of $441. Special thanks to the winners who donated back their winnings. We, your offi cers, ask for your support and welcome your input. Should any of you have questions I am always available.

Share the Elks Legacy

As members of an organization that has been around for 150 years, Elks appreciate longevity. The Legacy Awards scholarship is an opportunity to continue Elks members’ legacy through their children and grandchildren in the form of a scholarship. If a student receives a Legacy Award, they are granted a unique opportunity to continue their parent or grandparent’s legacy by serving with the Elks on an annual basis. Nathan Bartlett, sponsored by Dearborn, Mich., Lodge No. 1945, is carrying on the Elks legacy of his father

and mother who have been Elks for 21 and nearly 10 years, respectively. His parents have been actively involved at their Lodge, showing Nathan the Elks way.“It’s nice to see the Elks helping the next generation gain a higher education,” Nathan shares. “I’m proud to represent the Elks as a scholar.”The Legacy Awards is a competitive $4,000 scholarship awarded to 300 high school seniors each year. The scholarship application is open to the children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elks who joined the order on or before April 1, 2016, or who are charter members of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2016 there is still a set of requirements students must meet to receive the scholarship. Winners will be chosen based on academics, leadership, and the core values of the Elks National Foundation. If you know someone who fi ts these criteria, encourage them to apply online. The application deadline is February 1 at 11:59 a.m. CST. Visit enf.elks.org/Legacy for complete eligibility and contest details.

Frank Chicago, PDDGERLodge ENF Chairman

BLT

BLT was established to build funds for the future of our Major Project. To become a BLT benefactor, you would include the program in your will, living trust or life insurance policy. There are several different ways of designating a portion of your assets to the Major Project. If you feel it would be possible for you to make a planned gift in this manner, you would to have your fi nancial advisor or personal attorney prepare the instrument and coordinate with the Fresno offi ce at (559) 255-4531. Your gift would be helping genera-tions of disabled children WALK, TALK, SEE and PLAY. And did you know that if you contributed $10,000.00 or more you would receive 7% on your money for life. Fraternally yours,Sue Dotson, BLT Chairman

We packed 32 boxes and fi lled them with joy and goodies from home and sent them on their way. I love how the members come together for the betterment of others. Christmas is the time of giving and you showed it in many ways. Giving, in the dollars you spent on the items for the boxes, for your time packing, taping and writing of the labels and of the support this shows our troops when they receive these boxes.

Thank you to all that helped pack this past month.
