Last year, 60 Chipotle customers in 14 states became ill with E. coli, and over300 customers and employees in California and Boston contracted norovirus.

It’s no surprise that Chipotle doesn’t have a handleon foodborne disease outbreaks. Chipotle’s supplier Taylor Farms recalled over 150,000food items in the past few months.

Taylor Farms also abuses its predominantlyimmigrant workforce, and is being prose-cuted for more than 50 federal labor law violations after its Tracy, Calif. workers suffered years of low wages, threats andharassment. The facility was also cited for44 health and safety violations last year.

Chipotle: Don’t cut and run from yoursupply chain problem. Live up to yourproclaimed values — tell Taylor Farmsthere can be no food safety when workers are mistreated.
