Deploying the E20There are our ways o deploying the E20:

By use o automatic provisioning. By use o the keypad.

By logging into the unit rom a remote PC. By use o Provisioning.

Automatic provisioningWhen you start the E20 the rst time you will be prompted to choose the language tobe used in the menus and dialog boxes.

Once the language has been selected, the E20 will congure the correct languageand a provisioning assistant will pop up.

The wizard will help you congure the E20 with the correct parameters. Observe thatCisco has dened a set o DHCP options. The E20 will pick up these settings i theyhave been set by your network administrator.

The wizard supports dierent provisioning or conguration schemes. The Cisco VCS(TMS 12.5) is the deault scheme and is the recommended provisioning scheme orthe E20. The other schemes will only allow the E20 to be easily congured usinga core set o conguration parameters. The E20 supports VCS, Broadsot, CiscoCallway, Cisco UCM and HTTP. Callway is a subscription based service. Contact yourCallway representative or more on this. Depending on the inrastructure you will beprompted to supply inormation like username and passwords.

Once you have completed the elds and selected the register button, the E20 willcontact the external manager and tr y to provision the device. You will be notiedwhether the registration process succeeds or ails. Note that even i provisioningor registration ails the system may keep trying in background

In case o ailure to connect successully, you may rectiy the parameters and try again. Iyou dont have provisioning set up in your network you can choose Manual to congurebasic SIP settings manually. You can run the Startup wizard later using the menu.

The nal step o the wizard will be to adjust the camera. Note that camera adjustment isoptional at this stageyou may choose to do this later.

Using the keypad to congure the E201. Navigate rom the Home menu to the Menu tab. Use the Downarrow key to

navigate down to Advanced settings. Press .

    2. Navigate down to System conguration and press .

    3. Navigate to SystemUnit > Name and press .

Select a name that is unique to avoid conicts. We recommend that you use yourname or initials, eg. AliceWonderland. This name will be seen as you by the others.

    4. In most cases DHCP will be used or assignment, this is the deault setting.

To set to static, go one step back and up to IP Settings > IP Assignment. Set to

Static. Enter the IP address, Subnet Maskand Gateway IP address.5. To set provisional parameters go to Provisioning > External manager.

In most cases when you change settings in the Provisioning submenu, the E20 willsend a provisioning request to the external manager. More on this can be ound inthe Auto provisioning on page 8.

    6. In case you are not going to use an external manager, there are things that need tobe congured manually:

    a. To be able to dial, you need to congure the SIP settings. In theNetworkServices > SIP, set SIP Mode to Ofbeore doing anything else.

    b. Go to SIP > Prole1. Set Deault Transport to Auto (which is the same asdeault), Proxy1 Discovery to Manual, You must also enter the IP address o theProxy (Proxy is your PBX/VCS or OCS) and you must enter the URI o your E20.Set the SIP Mode back to On.

    c. I your S IP Server / PBX uses user authorization you need to supply a user-id andpassword. This is done in SIP > Prole1 > Authentication 1.

    d. You may want to use a TMS phonebook. I you have this and no entries aredisplayed ater conguring, you must make sure that your unit is registered in TMSand that a phonebook is assigned to your system.

Your E20 comes with no deault administrator password set! This means thatanyone with network access to the E20 can easily log onto the device with SSH.

We strongly recommend that you set up an administrator password by using themenu in Settings > Advanced > Change password.

xConguration SIP Prole 1 Authentication 1 Password:

You may want to use a corporate TMS phonebook. I you have this and no entriesare displayed ater conguring, you must make sure that your unit is registered inTMS and a phonebook i s assigned to your system.

xConguration Phonebook Server 1 ID: default

xConguration Phonebook Server 1 Type: TMS

    xConguration Phonebook Server 1 URL:

Should the system ail to respond to incoming calls, make sure that:

The system is connected to line voltage The LAN cable is properly connectedsee Connecting the E20 or details.

Auto provisioningThere are situations where service providers preer that users need not enter anyinormation at all. Instead, they want the E20 to retrieve all the inormation necessaryby itselthrough pro-active behavior using HTTP or HTTPS.

When provisioning mode is set to Auto (deault), we try the ollowing:

    1. HTTP provisioning towards http://tandbergprovisioning/getcong

    2. I PROVISIONINGSERVER and PROVISIONINGDOMAIN is set in /etc/dhcpino,use VCS provisioning

    3. I TMSSERVER is set in /etc/dhcpino, use TMS provisioning

    4. For TE4.0 and newer: I TFTPSERVERADDRESS (option 150) is set in /etc/dhcpino, use Cisco UCM provisioning.

    5. I TFTPSERVER (option 66) is set in /etc/dhcpino, try ttp

    6. HTTP provisioning towards http://globalprovisioning.tandberg.com/getcong(see examples right).

I all o the above steps ail, the GUI will show the startup wizard.

With TE4.0.0 the E20 supports provisioning and basic call unctionality with CiscoUnied Communications Manager (CUCM) version 8.5 and above. The E20also supports Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) or easy deployment in CUCMenvironments. Voice VLAN and Data VLAN are VLAN tags used by Cisco switches. When provisioning mode is set to CUCM the E20 will try to use Voice VLAN iavailable in your network. When in other provisioning modes the E20 will try to use

Data VLAN. See also the appendix or more on this.

Video conerencing using MultiWayThe E20 supports MultiWay as a means to call more than one. Successul useo MultiWay requires the presence o certain inrastructure products.

Note!MultiWayConerence oProle1 (see Prole 13 on page 27) musthave been set to the correct address o the MultiWay ser ver to make this work. This must be set or Prole 1 regardless o which Prole(s) that actually are inuse. The other Proles need not be specied or MultiWay to make this work.

Case 1: Assume that you already are in a call and that you would like to expandthe call to include someone else.

    Do as ollows:

    1. Start calling someone else by pressing the . This will produce the menusallowing you to place a call as described earlier.

    2. Placing a new call will put the current call on Hold. When the new participantreplies, select Join Calls.

    3. Repeat, i needed, to include more par ticipants.

Each participant may leave the conerence at all times by terminating the callin the usual manner. This will disconnect the participant, but the rest o theconerence will go on.

I the one who initiated the conerence terminates his or her call, the conerencemay be brought to an end (all participants will be disconnected) or theconerence may go on without the initiator. This will depend on the actual setupo the MultiWay server. Consult your System Administrator, i needed, to nd outmore about this,

Case 2: Someone calls you while you are in a call. You will need to decide

whether the calling party shall be invited to join the current call or not.

    1. Someone calls you while you are in a call. A dialog box giving you threeoptions will be shown. The options are:

Accept (put current call on hold) Accept (disconnect current call) Reject

    2. Select Accept (put current call on hold).

    3. When you are ready to create the conerence, select Join Calls.

Case 2 options: I you do not want to set up a MultiWay conerence, you havethe ollowing choices in 2. above:

I you want to accept the incoming call instead o the current call, selectAccept (disconnect current call).

I you do not want to respond to the incoming call, select Reject.

Note! The maximum number o participants in a MultiWay call is limited by thecapabilities o the inrastructure o your network only. The two cases describedon this page may be combined as much as you want.

Note! You may not invite an ongoing conerence to the Multiway. I one o yourparticipants is a conerence or a multisite call the Join button will be disabled.

Adding the screensaver o your choiceYou may add the screensaver o your choice to the E20. You will need a USBdisk containing the picture(s) you want to use as screensaver. I the USB stickcontains multiple pictures, the contents will be shown as a gallery, one pictureat a time.

    A ew things to observe:

Once you have plugged in the USB disk, the E20 will produce a dialogasking you whether the pictures on the USB disk should be displayed by theUSB picture rame. TE 4 will read xci data and even rotate images whennecessary. The prompt will let you speciy the time interval between the lasttime you operated (used) the E20 and when the screensaver should start toappear.

The USB disk must remain connected to the E20 to make this work.

The ollowing le ormats are supported: *.jpg, *.png, *.gi.

The E20 uses Exi inormation to scale the picture.

Avoiding conict with the standby unctionThere is a standby unction in the E20. When activated, the standby unctionmakes the screen go black a ter a time interval (delay) specied by you. Thissetting will override the screensaver eature.

To continuously display the screensaver, the standby unction must be disabled.

You may, however, combine the two. Consider the ollowing:

Assume that you speci y the screensaver to start ater 10 minutes and that youspeciy the standby to star t ater one hour. Five minutes ater the last time youused your E20 (or pushed any button), the screensaver will start and it will thenrun or 55 minutes until the standby unction starts.

Multiple linesTE 4 supports multiple lines. This means that it supports registration o multipleconcurrent SIP proles on the E20. Consequently, it is possible to be registeredwith more than one Address-O-Record at the same time. The user can bereached through several SIP URIs at the same time and it is possible to call

using a specied SIP prole. One example would be the use o a work (SIP-)prole or the home oce and a private (SIP-)prole. Another example would bea secretary using both a personal (SIP-)prole and the (SIP-)prole or his/herboss.

    Limitations:

In general, it is not possible to use dierent lines to dierent types o SIPservers (or example Cisco VCS vs Broadsot Broadworks).

Multiple lines is not currently supported when registered to Cisco UCM as anative device.

When dialing out rom a system congured with multiple lines, you will need to selecta line beore making the call. The available lines will be shown in a multiple-lineselection widget on the screen. The right-most sotkey makes it possible to put ocus

on the multiple-line widget enabling you to select the preerred line.

ExampleTE 4 supports BroadWorks which is a sotware-based IP-PBX. You may provisionthe E20 using the BroadWorks provisioning system. In addition to supporting theBroadWorks provisioning scheme, TE 4 supports Shared Call Appearance, Click-to-dial, Push-to-talk. The ormer is a concept based on support or private andshared lines. Private lines are regular SIP-proles similar to the line concept in TE2.0 and earlier versions.

A shared line is a BroadWorks extension supported in TE 2.1 and higher. It meansthat several users (E20s) can share a single line.

Whenever someone calls the shared line, all o the E20s congured with this sharedline will start to ring. Whoever answers rst will take the call. However, it is possibleor other users o the shared line to barge-in and join the call.

Since Broadworks does not support video mixing in its current version, the joinedcall will be audio only. As soon as one o the users disconnects rom the call, thevideo will be resumed.

These examples apply to Broadsot Broadworks R16 only.

    Click-to-dial is a concept where a web-based call-control manager can be

used to set up and tear down video ca lls between dierent devices. The mostcommon use case would be or a user to call another user rom his/her ownE20.

Push-to-talk is a concept similar to a walk ie-talkie where the calling user willpress the call but ton to immediately be connected to the remote party.

IntroductionCisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) is a proprietary layer-2management protocol developed by Cisco in the early1990s to provide enhanced automation o network

discovery and management. It is broadly deployed onmillions o existing Cisco products and provides count-less benets to network administrators or managingrouter and switch interaces. With the introduction o IPTelephony in the late 1990s and early 2000s, CDP wasenhanced to provide additional automation capabili-ties or IP-based telephones, including automatic VLANdiscovery, Power over Ethernet (POE) negotiation, Qualityo Service (QoS) automation, location awareness (toautomate the discovery o the physical location o an

IP telephone or management and emergency servicespurposes), Ethernet speed and duplex mismatch detec-tion, and more.

Note: The IETF, IEEE and TIA, in cooperation with Cisco

and numerous other networking vendors, have sincecreated the IEEE 802.1AB standard, known as Link-LayerDiscovery Protocol (LLDP), with extensions developedor Media Endpoint Discovery (LLDP-MED) or voice andvideo endpoints. LLDP-MED will eventually subsume CDP,but this may take years to unold due to the enormousinstalled-base and widespread use o CDP.

Cisco acquired TANDBERG in April 2010. The TANDBERGportolio o video endpoints compliments Ciscos existing

Telepresence and Unied Communications solu-tions. With TANDBERG now a part o Cisco, oneo the rst steps towards integrating the portolios

is to add CDP support to the ormer TANDBERGproducts. CDP support is introduced on the CiscoE20 IP Video Phone in release TE4.0. Similarsupport is planned or the Cisco Telepresence EXseries, Quick Set 20, C40/C60/C90 stand-aloneintegrator codecs, and the C-Series based ProleSystems, in release TC4.2.

However, because there is already an installed-base o these endpoint models (prior to theCisco acquisition) that are not running CDP,introducing CDP in a sotware release requirescareul consideration o how the new automationunctionality will aect that existing installed-

base. Enabling CDP by deault could causeundesired behavior or those existing deploy-ments when they upgrade to a CDP-enabledrelease and the devices suddenly begin usingVLAN automation, so CDP is being introduced ina phased approach.

This document briey highlights the benetso CDP, and the behavior o the Cisco E20 inrelease TE4.0. A similar approach will be takenwhen introducing CDP support in the TC4.2 sot-ware that runs on the EX and C-Series products.

Benets Provided by CDPAs mentioned in the introduction above, CDP providesnumerous automation benets or network administratorsdeploying IP-based voice and video endpoints on their

networks. This section briey highlights some o the mostpertinent benets or IP-based voice/video endpoints likethe Cisco E20.

Automatic VLAN discoveryVirtual LANs (VLANs) allow a network administrator to intro-duce IP-based telephones and video terminals onto theirnetwork without the need or re-addressing their existingdata subnets, or adding additional ethernet ports to theirswitches. Leveraging the 802.1Q standard, a device suchas a Cisco E20 can tag its Ethernet rames with the VLAN

ID that its trac belongs to, placing its trac into the voice /video VLAN (known as the auxiliary VLAN); while Ethernetrames sent by a PC are not tagged, and thereore end upin the data VLAN (known as the native VLAN). This allowsthe E20 to be inserted in between an existing PC and theEthernet switch to which it is attached, allowing or a singleEthernet port per user, thereby eliminating the need to addadditional ports in the wiring closet, and allowing the E20 tobe assigned to a dierent (new) IP subnet rather than con-suming IP addresses in the existing PC VLAN. VLANs alsoallow the network administrator to apply dierent securityand Quality o Service (QoS) policies on a per-VLAN basis.

Figures 1 and 2 illustrate these concepts.

Without CDP (or LLDP-MED), the user must manuallycongure each endpoint with the 802.1Q VLAN ID itshould use. CDP automates this task, allowing the Ether-net switch to advertise to the endpoint the ID o the VLANit should belong to.

Automatic Quality o ServiceQuality o Service is essential or a well-perormingnetwork, providing preerential service to latency, jitter orloss sensitive applications like voice and video; deerentialservice to misbehaving applications such as viruses andother undesirable network trac; and air treatment toroutine, non-time sensitive trac such as email or web

browsing. However, QoS can be complex to congureand manage, and the administrator needs to be assuredthat the trac entering the network is marked with thecorrect QoS values. For user-acing devices such as PCs,IP-based telephones and video terminals, the administra-tor must establish a demarcation point where QoS mark-

ings coming in rom these devices are either not trustedand instead overwritten to an administratively conguredvalueor trusted to set their own QoS values and theEthernet switch will honor those values. This demarcationpoint, or trust boundary, ensures that i the user accident-ly, or intentionally, tampers with the QoS values assignedto these devices, those QoS values will be remarked by

the administrator as they ingress the network.CDP provides a method o automatically extending thistrust boundary (at the administrators discretion) so thatthe phone or video terminal can mark its packets withthe desired QoS values, and the switch will trust thephones packets (because the administrator knows that

the specic model o phone in question canbe trusted to behave properly and cannot betampered with) and orwards those pack-ets on into the network. This unctionality isknown as AutoQoS on the Cisco Catalyst lineo Ethernet switches. Figures 3 and 4 illustratethe concept o AutoQoS. More inormation on

    AutoQoS can be ound at

    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/WAN_and_MAN/QoS_SRND_40/QoSCampus_40.html#wp1098057

Power over Ethernet (POE) nego-tiationThe 802.3a standard provides or Power overEthernet to devices such as IP-based tele-phones and video terminals. CDP providesadditional benet by allowing the endpointto indicate to the Ethernet switch how muchpower it requiresand or the switch to ad-vertise to the endpoint how much power isavailablethereby allowing more granular levelo negotiation between the switch and theendpoint, and allowing the Ethernet switch tomore closely track its available power bud-get. Note that POE is not used by the CiscoE20, but is mentioned here as inormationalbenet to the reader since POE is widelyused by many other models o Cisco Unied

    Fig. 3: WithoutCDP / AutoQoS

    Fig. 4: With

    CDP / AutoQoS

IP Phones, Wireless Access Points, surveillance cameras, and myriad other devices.

Location AwarenessWith the introduction o IP-based telephones, a new levelo mobility was aorded in that an IP endpoints could be

plugged in anywhere in the network, obtain an IP address, and start making calls, reducing the costs associated withphysically patching telephone cables when moving anemployee rom one oce to another. However, certainmanagement unctions and emergency services rely onknowing the precise location o a telephone. CDP allowsor network management applications to identiy thephysical location o a phone (by detecting what Ethernetport that phone is attached to, and hence, where it physi-cally is located). This inormation is then leveraged by ap-plications such as Cisco Emergency Responder to directtelephone calls made to emergency services personnelto the correct dispatch oce. There are many other realand potential uses or location inormation.

Ethernet Speed / Duplex Mismatch DetectionEthernet devices use the 802.3 auto negotiation proce-dure to automatically negotiate their speed and duplexsettings. However, a very common problem is that oneside or the other is accidently congured or the wrongsettings, resulting in packet loss. For example, thenetwork administrator has congured all the GigabitEthernet ports on the switch or auto negotiation, but theuser accidently sets the port on his or her PC, IP phone

or video terminal to a manually congured value, suchas 100 Mbps / Full duplex. This can result in a mismatchbetween the switch and the endpoint, resulting in a largepercentage o loss on that interace. CDP does not auto-mate the resolution o such a condition, but it does detectit and cause an alarm to be generated on the switch, notiying the administrator o the condition so that he orshe may take steps to resolve it.
