Vertebrates
Fish, Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds and Mammals
ReptilesReptiles have dry and leathery
skin. Every type of reptile sheds their skin at least once.
Unlike mammals reptiles hatch many eggs at once.
Reptiles are also cold blooded animals. This means their
body temperature can adapt to the weather.
There are 4 types of reptiles species. Crocodilians,
Sphenodonitia, Squamata’s and Testudines.
AmphibiansAmphibians are the only types of living things that live both in land and in water. Adult Amphibians lay eggs in the water. The first half of their life amphibians swim in the water. They are
defined tadpoles. Frogs and Toads are both Amphibians. They lay hundreds of eggs. There are about 6,500 types of amphibians.

Fish are the only animals that have gills. Gills help fish breathe underwater.
Fish also have fins to help them navigate in the ocean. Fish lay thousands of eggs at once
No types of fish live in the dead sea.
Birds
Birds have wings to help them fly in the air. Birds have two legs and wings.
Birds have beaks instead of teeth and they have talons instead of hand
Bats are the only mammals to have wings.
Mammals
