Main objectives

• Improve capacity and quality of key European transport infrastructure and strengthen seaborne transport solutions.

• Increase competitiveness of link and thereby of the whole TEN-T:– Cost efficient supply (BAF ↓, capacity ↑),

– Possibility of hourly departures.

• Improve environmental performance:– Efficient state-of-the-art vessels,

– Improved port access in Gedser, and

– Reduced Nykoping city traffic,

– Saving of 1 mt of CO2 over 30 years.

• Avoid inefficient road detours (approx. 20 bn t-km over 30 years) and share of intermodal transport of 6% (by 2017).

• Contribute to social welfare, e.g.– NPV (incremental) of some 100 m€;

– Time saving of 180.000 hrs p.a.

Expectations and suggestions

• Expectations Gather detailed information of other MoS projects of the 2010 call;

Exchange experiences (application, difficulties, project emphases etc.);

Establish contact with other project managers/ partners, in particular LNG, IT and Danish hub-and-spoke-projects.

• Suggestions Establish information exchange platform (e.g. at TEN-T EA);

Invite also other previous/ running Baltic projects to annual cluster meeting;

Support interaction with other European clusters (North sea, Atlantic, MED).
