As soccer continues to grow in the USA, moreelementary schools
have added soccer to theirsports program.
Dunhams carries mens, womens and youthsoccer cleats in a wide
range of price points froNike, Adidas, Puma, and Under Armour.
Basic adult and youth Adidas and Nike soccershoes are carried in
all stores, while moreadvanced models are carried in limited
stores.
Everything in a soccer shoe is designed to givethe player the
most feel for the ball.
There is no toe cleat in soccer shoes; thisenables the player to
get under the ball withoutcatching his shoe on the turf.
The uppers do not have a very large toe box.There isnt any
excess room in the toe area wh
would lessen the feel for the ball. Uppers are usually made of
leather or syntheticleather. The synthetic material that is used
insoccer cleats is softer and more flexible than thmaterials used
in baseball cleats.
Soccer shoes are built on a flat last. There islittle or no
curvature in the sole the sole is levfrom front to back.
The toe and ball of the foot area is smooth withraised stitching
for ball control.
Molded plastic or nylon cleats are the most
common type of cleat used in soccer shoes dueto their low cost.
Soccer shoes are reinforced along the sides of
the foot for durability in sto side motions.

In general, ball sizes go by the age groupof play. Heres a quick
breakdown:
Ages 8 and under - Size 3 Ball Ages 8 to 12 - Size 4 Ball Ages
13 and up - Size 5 Ball
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SHINGUARDS
Choosing the right size shinguards can be tough,but there is a
simple way to determine the rightlength.Measure the length of your
shin and then multiplyby 0.75. The result is the maximum lengthyou
should purchase. Any larger may cause dis-comfort while
playing.
