Unfinished Business:

• 4th Degree Corner – FN Bob Reich informed members that the next meeting will be September 12th at Wertel’s Tap – 6pm social, 7pm dinner. He also spoke about the new 4th

degree uniform for Honor Guard. The specifics for the uniform are online. The cost is $500 for the uniform however there is a 25% discount if you order before the end of Septem-ber. The 4th degree candidates now have to wear a black suit, white shirt, black shoes and blue tie. The next 4th degree exemplification is on October 28th in Franklin, WI. Location TBD.

• Coins for Caroline – Brothers consider donating any loose change for Sr Caroline to use for bus fare, laundry, etc for the needy. These proceeds are put in $5.00 bags of quarters

along with a Knight’s Logo on the bag so the less fortunate know where the donations are coming from.

• Summer Social – 78 people enjoyed the cooking of brothers LaMere and Watzka. A great time was had by all and the winner of the 50/50 raffle was Jen Swisher $115.

• Advertising in Parish Magazine – Wes will notify Leslie that we cannot financially support this magazine advertising.

• Recruitment Dinner – Tuesday Sept. 26th at 6:00pm at Mackinaws. Cost will be $18/person. Council will pay for all candidates and their spouses. Knights will be responsible for

their and their wives meals. Brother Whitton will be sending emails out to update us. New Business:

• Form Subscription – DD Dan Grillo informed us that Fr Mark is looking for the Knights to pay for a subscription to the Form which is a subscription for books and articles for the

parish. The subscription is $1,800/year. DGK Swisher will follow up with Fr Mark about this.

• First Degree Exemplification Practice – Monday August 21st, 6:30pm in Bishop Hall. We will go through the exemplification twice so all will have a turn in their respective parts.

• Installation of Officers – Will be Monday August 28th at The Woods – 5:30pm social, 6:00pm installation, and 7:00pm dinner. Dinner will be $13/person. Once everything is con-

firmed, DGK Swisher will email out the details.

• Booyah – Set for November 11-12. Sign up to help out to cut veggies on Saturday morning and/or sell booyah on Sunday.

• Reverse Collection – September 16-17. Sign up to help collect and box up at all masses.

• First Degree Exemplification – Monday September 11th at 7pm. Have candidates here by 6:45pm to sign in.

• Trailer Insurance – Discussed the cost of the insurance of $597 to see if we should keep it. Past GKs informed us why we need it since it insures the product of the booyah, cata-

strophic injury, and many other things. They priced it out a few years ago and our rate has stayed the same for the past 3 years which is the cheapest we can get right now. It was decided to keep the insurance.

• Corporate Breakfast/Brunch – Discussed that we should have a brunch at Mackinaw’s after a 10am mass. DGK Swisher will talk with Fr. Mark to see what date would work best.

• Pancake & Porkie Breakfast – Discussed that we should look at doing a P&P breakfast in October. We will talk with Kelly Watzka to help us run it like the Boy Scouts since they are

successful with the one they run and we would like to run it similar to that.

• Columbus Day – October 9th – we discussed that we should do a district wide event. DD Grillo will follow up with us after his conference call “Huddle”

• Semi-Annual Audit – Financial Secretary Noe stated that everything checked out with the audit. There were a few errors in deposits that were now corrected in the charity and

general accounts. Charity Requests: None Knight of the Month: Joe Mastalir Family of the Month: Mike and Mary Delvaux Prayer for Life Cards: Distributed by GK Wes Swisher Lecturer’s Report. Brother Dan Grillo read a verse “The Way”, introducing “Opus Dei” which strives to show men and woman how to live according to Christ in everyday work and life. He then discussed this past weekend’s gospel where Jesus walked on water and asked Peter to do the same. He related it to our lives in how we should not take our eyes off of Jesus and get distracted by the world and its problems and pleasures. When we have proper focus each day, our ways of handling challenges doesn’t carry that negativity and include a positive experi-ence. Refocus your path every single day and see the difference in our lives. He also suggested that if anyone has ideas to share them with the group since we are more powerful as a group to serve in new ways.
