What is Communism?

Communism is a type of governance that makes everyone in the country equal. No one has power over another, except the government. There is no poor, no rich, only middle-class. In theory, this is a pretty good type of governance, but some dictators start abusing it, and people start getting killed, it becomes extremely bad. If the citizens don’t do what the government wants, the government will punish them, and most likely kill them.

What impact does Communism have on individuals?

If some people work in more important jobs, like banking and things like that, they get the same amount of money as people who work in less important jobs, like coal mining. This might result with the person with the more important job getting frustrated or angry enough to quit his/her job. If everybody quits their important jobs to do less important jobs, the country might collapse and the country would be really poor.

What are peoples roles in this system of governance?

Everyone has different jobs, according to their skills. Everyone gets payed the same amount of money. I think that people that work in important jobs should get at least a little bit more money than people who work in less important jobs. No one can own his/her own company, because the government owns everything. The governments role is to keep everyone in order, and make up new rules.

What are peoples rights in this system of governance?

In Communist countries, the citizens have very little rights (if any). They don’t get to go onto other countries websites, they don’t get to speak freely, they don’t get to own property, they don’t get to be religious, and much more.
