ANNOUNCEMENTSNEW HOLY DAY MASS SCHEDULEExcluding Christmas, beginning with the Solemnity of the Assumption (August 15), we will reduce the number of our Holy Day Masses from 3 to 2. Depending on the day of the week the Holy Day falls, the Masses will be 7:00 p.m. EVENING and 8:30 a.m. DAY OR 8:30 a.m. DAY and 7:00 p.m. EVENING.

ASSUMPTION OF MARY-HOLY DAYTuesday, August 15, is the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation for all Catholics to participate in Mass. Our Masses for the Holy Day are Monday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 15, at 8:30 a.m. (Beginning of new schedule).

PSR Starts September 10, 2017, so please get your forms filled out and turned into the office by August 25th, so we can get the class list to our Catechist. Thank you.

BAPTISMAL PREPARATION: Attendance at a Baptismal Preparation session is required to have your child baptized. Sessions are in Room 101 at 1:30 p.m. on the following dates: October 1 and December 3. Contact

May 13, 2017 marked the 100th Anniversary of the Blessed Mother appearing to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal. They were asked to “say the Rosary every day to bring peace to the world and an end to war.” “Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins,

save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy” was given to them by Mary.

Come Join Families In Action, Sunday, August 20th, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass for Donuts and Games in the banquet hall come for donuts, fellowship, and a children’s obstacle course.

HELP CENTERST. VINCENT HOTEL: Parishioners are reminded the hotel is in constant need of casseroles to serve the homeless guests. Completed casseroles can be placed in the Parish freezer and will be periodically delivered to the hotel by Parish volunteers. For

further information, contact Mike Begley (667-2882) or the Parish Office (667-3419). The next opportunity to serve the evening meal to the guests at St. Vincent Hotel will be August 27. Please meet in the north parking lot of the church for a 5:00 p.m. departure if you would like to volunteer.

Help Wanted! The Clothesline is seeking a new volunteer coordinator and currently has openings for a store clerk on both the fourth Saturday, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and a separate shift on the fifth Saturday, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Training will be provided. If

you are interested, please contact Meagan McEwen at (937) 506-8752, (630) 209-3261, or [email protected].

Again this year, Hispanic Ministry will be collecting school supplies to help the migrant farm worker children at the Tip-Top Canning Camp and also children of St. John’s families who need help. Look for the containers to place your donation in

the gathering area. Or, if you prefer to make a cash donation, you may drop a clearly marked envelope in the collection basket. School supplies will be passed out on August 17th, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Room 101.

AVAILABLE POSITION: UD Campus Ministry – Campus Minister for Liturgy and Sacraments is responsible for developing and coordinating the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for students, faculty, and staff, coordinating the preparation process and celebration of the Rite of the Sacrament of Confirmation, and supervising the part-time wedding coordinator. This is an eleven month position (10 months full-time, 2 months half-time) with full benefits. Salary commensurate with experience. Immediate start date preferred, but negotiable.
