Bring God Into Your Life
Do you have days when you need someone to talk
with? Making your relationship with God a greater
part of your life can help. Kathy Trocolli, author of
Live Like You Mean It, has these suggestions:
♦ Put aside that consuming “to do” list and try to
simply be: be still, be willing, be patient.
♦ Talk to God, the One who knows you best, fre-
quently and in your own language.
♦ Ask what your attitude and face say to others
are you feast or famine for another’s soul?
♦ Ask God to reveal Himself in who you are now,
without regard to your personal agenda.
Walk with God daily. Then your life will be a sweet
adventure.

Merciful Savior, help us, You and me, to walk together
every day, all day.

Matt 14:2233

St. Thomas Aquinas: By faith the Christian soul enters
into… marriage with God.

Elijah got rattled and fled to Mt. Sinai / Horeb, because
Jezebel’s assassins were after him. Peter got rattled
and began to sink into the sea, because of the strength
of the storm.
Paul got rattled because his fellow Israelites rejected
Christ and he feared for their salvation.

… but none of these men despaired and abandoned
God, instead they each looked for Him, reached out to
Him, recognizing Him as the original “Mr. Fixit”…
everything from the physical realities of protection
from assassins, to rescue from the forces of nature, to
the spiritual realities of softening hardened hearts and
healing relationships.

All three were fairly close to God, indeed, had a very
personal relationship with Him, which helped each of
them get through a very difficult situation. It was faith
that enabled the relationships to start, and faith and love
to sustain them. Faith provides a basis for love, be-
cause without faith we cannot recognize what God may
be doing in our lives. We would never think of build-
ing a relationship with someone in Whom we didn’t
believe existed. So, we can see that without faith we
could never please God, because He wants only our
love in return for all His care.

So, as we get kicked around by this tempestuous world
in which we live, don’t despair, “Don’t give up the
ship!”, reach out to the God Who actually can make a
difference in our lives, actually does care for us and
gives us His peace. Jesus… Jesus… Jesus… right
here in 15 minutes!
We closed on the sale of St.
Hedwig Church and Social Hall
on July 29th. Proceeds of
$282,000 was deposited in the
Corpus Christi savings account.
The buildings were purchased by
Crossway Christian Church.
Special THANKS to the individuals who help with
the disinfecting and cleaning of the church after the
weekday, weekend and funeral Masses. If you can
spare a few minutes after Mass we would appreciate
your help. Please call the parish office 8934073 to
volunteer.

“He said, “Come.”
Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on
the water toward Jesus.” Matthew 14:29

Peter responded immediately when Jesus called.
Do you respond so promptly when Jesus calls
you; or do you hesitate to answer, or even second
guess His call?
Only if you listen and respond are you living the
life that Jesus has intended for you.

Bunny Hugs: Our annual Bunny
Hugs Project had to be extended into
the month of June due to covid19. We were
still able to collect many smaller baby items
along with some larger ones. A total of $490.00
in cash donations was received this year. This
was combined with $531.27 remaining from
last year’s collection. That allowed us to
purchase 4 pack n ’plays along with mattress &
sheet sets to match, 3 infant car seats, 1 booster
seat, 1 highchair and 2 baby monitors. These
items were specifically requested by the
organizations we help. They include The
Women’s Center, Beacon of Hope, St. Luke’s
N.E.W. Life Center and The Good Samaritan
Rescue Mission. A Million Thanks to everyone
involved in making this enterprise an amazing
success!

Corpus Christi Parish is now using MyParishApp. This is a free app that can be downloaded to
your smartphone. This is another way that the parish can communicate with parishioners.
MyParishApp also is a great resource for prayers and all sorts of information. The weekly bulletin is
available through the app and also on our website.
Mass Attendance
Some of the guidelines we will follow are:
♦ The number of people attending Mass will be limited due to social distancing. Of 6 ft., which must be strictly
enforced. Families of the same household may sit together. The cry room, balcony and chapel will not be used for
any seating.
♦ Parishioners MUST call the parish office (8934073) before noon on Friday to reserve your place at Mass. When
the allotted number of persons are signed up for a Mass, no others will be allowed to attend. You are to check in at
the door. Additional Masses can be scheduled depending upon demand.
♦ MASKS ARE MANDATORY. … NO MASK… NO MASS
♦ Masks that cover the mouth and nose must be worn when on parish grounds and in all buildings. The only
time a mask may be removed is to consume the Eucharist. Those who choose to wear gloves must remove
them also to receive the Eucharist.
♦ Communion will be received in the hand only. We are sympathetic to those who feel receiving communion on the
tongue is important, but for the safety of the priest and all parishioners, that practice will be discontinued for the
time being.
♦ There will be baskets near the Altar for contribution envelopes so that there is no community basket being passed.
We thank those who have continued to support the parish during this time!
♦ We will not be using worship aids at this time.
♦ Please exit directly from the church. Do not stop to visit or congregate.
It is understood that many may not be comfortable with returning to church at this time; that is why the bishop has
given dispensation until the end of August. Anyone who is ill, or those who are over 60 with underlying health issues
such as diabetes, heart or lung issues, etc. making them more vulnerable are encouraged to stay home.
No admittance or exit from the North Door (by the choir)
Wedding Anniversary Announcements
If you would like to have your Wedding Anniversary announced in church during the intercessions, please call the
Parish Office at least two weeks in advance. To avoid announcing misinformation, only those called in to the
office will be announced. If you would like it in the /bulletin we need to know a month in advance .
Attention Kiesel’s Pearls
Our final luncheon will be held at the Doubletree on Tuesday, August 11th. Cocktails at Noon and catered luncheon at
1:00 p.m. All paid members are welcome.
A New Wine For Seniors
California vintners in the Napa Valley area, which primarily produces Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, and
Pinot Grigio wines, have developed a new hybrid grape that is expected to reduce the number of trips older people
have to make to the bathroom during the night.
The new wine will be marketed as Pinot More.
SMILE
Faith Formation
Contrary to a rumor going around town, Corpus Christi Parish will have some form of a Faith Formation Program
depending on decisions made in Lansing.
