1- My sister and I am at the same school.

2- Mr. Miller is my new neighbor. She’s very polite.

3- You are thirsty?

4- Where your mother is from?

5- Susan not is very intelligent.

LOOK AT THE CORRECTED SENTENCES:

1- My sister and I are at the same school.(the verb to be is always “are” in plural)2- Mr. Miller is my new neighbor. He’s very polite.(Mr. male [man] Mrs./Ms. female [woman])3- Are you thirsty?(We invert the verb and the subject in questions)4- Where is your mother from?(We invert the verb and the subject in questions)5- Susan is not very intelligent.(not comes after the verb to be in the negative)

2- The dog is in its house.

(dog animal it its)

3- The Thompsons are traveling with their children.

(The Thompsons Mr. and Mrs. They their)

4- This is my dog and his name is Pluto.

(pet he or she Pluto he his)

1- Sue is in that bus over there.

2- Mary is on the home.

3- I am in the school.

4- Carl is with the phone.

LOOK AT THE CORRECTED SENTENCES:

1- Susan is on that bus over there.

(We say “on the bus”, “on the street”)

2- Mary is at home.

(or Mary is home.)

3- I am at school.

(We use in when we refer to a room)

4- Carl is on the phone.

(We say “on the phone” and “with his sister” – company)

4- Look! This is my sister over there!

LOOK AT THE CORRECTED SENTENCES:

1- This man is my step father.

(this + singular)

2- Is this book over here Sara’s?

(this/these + here that/those + there)

3- Where are those two women?

(those + plural; if you ask “where”, they are not here)

4- Look! That’s my sister over there.

(this + here that + there)

2- I’m going to the teachers’s room.

1- That’s my boss’s office.

(‘s after the owner)

2- I’m going to the teachers’ room.

(plurals ending in “s” = add ‘)

3- Where’s the ladies’ room?

(‘ after the owner, plural, ending with “s”)

4- This is my teacher’s book.

(owner + ‘s or ‘ + belonging)

2- This is the my eraser.

3- She’s the Mary.

4- I want an pen.

LOOK AT THE CORRECTED SENTENCES:

1- That’s an apple.

(before nouns starting with vowel sound, an is used.)

2- This is my eraser.

(we don’t use articles with possessives)

3- She’s Mary.

(we don’t use articles before names – except some: The USA, The UK, etc.)

4- I want a pen.

(before nouns starting with consonant sound, a is used.)

1- There’s some student’s in the classroom.

2- Are there mustard in the fridge?

3- Is there a coffee for breakfast?

4- There are notebooks on the desk?

LOOK AT THE CORRECTED SENTENCES:

1- There are some students in the classroom.

(students = plural = there are)

2- Is there mustard in the fridge?

(mustard – singular uncountable = there is)

3- Is there coffee for breakfast?

(a / an + singular countable nouns)

4- Are there notebooks on the desk?

(we invert are/is and there in questions)

1- There isn’t some mustard in the fridge.

2- There are any people at the door.

3- Are there some ketchup left?

4- There’s the apple on the table.

(any is used in negative sentences)

2- There are some people at the door.

(in this sense, we use some in the affirmative)

(in this sense, we use any in questions)

4- There’s an apple on the table.

(there’s an undetermined apple on the table)
