BRIEF ABOUT HESSARGHATTA:

Hessarghatta is a scenic location at 30 kilometers
to the north west of Bangalore in Karnataka State
of India (GPS coordinates: 13 9' 19"N, 77 27'50"
E). Hessarghatta is known for huge lake and
organizations related to Agriculture and Animal
Husbandry activities. Green Campus is the
neighborhood for all institutions.
This Institute Located at Hessarghatta, was
established during 1972 to cater to the training
needs of the Country and of other developing
Countries in Poultry Production and allied
activities. This Institute imparts advanced and
Specialised training to the technical officers of the
Central/State Govt. Organisations, Agricultural
Universities, Bank and Insurance Corporations,
Cooperative Sector, Poultry and Meat
Corporations and Private Sector Poultry
Organisations of the Country.
Under various Sponsored Schemes like ITEC,
Colombo Plan, SCAAP, FAO, Foreign Officials
from 54 countries have so far represented in the
training at this Premier Institute.

PRODUCTION UNITS:
This organization has a laboratory with latest
equipment for service of feed industry in
assessing quality issues of feed & feed
ingredients. Training in laboratory courses is
also imparted for science graduates along with
veterinarians.
Rural poultry development is the primary focus
of Government organizations. This organization
maintains parent stocks of rural chicken and
duck varieties for the needs of the country.
