Parish Mission Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church is a large, vibrant parish that has a tradition of serving God’s people with the warmth of a small parish. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, we prayerfully seek to serve God by the way we worship, celebrate the sacraments, witness the Gospel, and serve one another. We are committed to live our Christian life as a community of hospitality, spiritual enrichment, and service through works of compassion, mercy, and evangelization. We are called to proclaim, teach and model the good news of Jesus Christ. We pledge our time, talent, and treasures for the fulfillment of our parish mission.

This Week’s Meetings and Activities
Eucharistic Adoration Eucharistic Adoration is adoring or honoring the
Eucharistic Presence of Christ; it involves the contemplation of Christ truly present before us.
Eucharistic Adoration is every Friday for one hour after the 8:30 am Mass. In addition all are invited to St. Ferdinand Church for a 12 hour Eucharistic Adoration every first Friday from 8:00 pm—8:00 am. At least two must be present at all times. Sign-up sheets, for each month, are on the bulletin board in the Narthex.
On Mission for The Church Alive!
Do to Others as You Would Have Them Do to You. This sentence taken from today’s Gospel is usually referred to as the “Golden Rule.” Calling this life maxim golden would suggest that something about it is
precious. In fact, it highlights that each and every human life is precious. If we didn’t believe that all life is precious, why would it be expected that we would respect and honor others and we expect to be respected and honored ourselves. The dignity and respect that the Golden Rule sets forth applies to all human life as we work to love and support the unborn, the elderly and everyone in between. At the same time, the Golden Rule also applies to every relationship and encounter of our lives. While we all have those people in our lives that are harder to love than others, Jesus calls us to a higher way of living, sacrificing and even suffering in order to love another as we expect to be loved ourselves.
On Mission for The Church Alive! invites us to live out the Golden Rule in the context of our parish groupings: to welcome as we would expect to be welcomed; to encourage as we would expect to be encouraged; to build up as we would expect to be built up. We are all precious to God and we should make the most of the opportunities we have to let each other know it. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to learn more and to stay informed.

Meet in the church Monday, February 25 at 7:00 pm to join in prayer.
First Saturday Rosary and Prayer
You are invited to join in Eucharistic Adoration at 7:45 am Saturday, March 2. Afterward, a meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary in a form of Lectio Divina are prayed. Following the 8:30 am Mass the devotion will continue in the Daily Mass Chapel.

While you’re on the web you can register to receive electronic newsletters and emails from St. Ferdinand.
Bringing Your Child to Church The parishioners at St. Ferdinand Parish would like
you to feel comfortable when you bring your child to Mass. Children learn to participate in the liturgical and sacramental life of our parish by observing others worship. Attending Mass each week helps the community to know your children, help children to develop a joyful appreciation of our liturgy and to grow into taking part with the rest of the assembly.
We understand that children may need a snack to help keep them settled during Mass. Please be sure the snacks are not left on the floor for the ants. If a child cannot be settled, there is a Children’s Chapel, Nursery, or a Children’s Liturgy Room in the back of the church where they will feel more comfortable.
You and your family are a witness of God’s love for the parish. Every time you lovingly care for your family you help other parishioners feel God’s love. We are grateful to you for showing us all how important God is in your life. Thank you for having your family be part of our faith family.
