FAITH FORMATION NEWS!!
Why Is Mass So Important? THE THIRD COMMANDMENT: Keep Holy the Sabbath. God revealed the importance of Liturgy from creation on. When He gave the commands to the people of Israel, He gave them to us. What great love our God has for us that He shared ways for us to remain in Him; finding its roots all the way back to Old Testament. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the life of the Church. As Christians we are supposed to live it (as Christ) every day from birth to death. The Liturgy moves from our gathering together; to listening to the Word of God; and proceeds to remembering Christ’s Passion and ultimately receiving the Eucharist; the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus, truly. Read John 15:15. Pray and ponder what God is revealing to your family.
COMMUNITY: We are one body, many parts. We are not here to struggle on our own. Jesus calls us to a communal relationship. That is what He created us for. We join together not just by ourselves, or with the congregation, but with those that have gone before us. The saints are with us. We truly are receiving Him with the “Communion of Saints.” What does that truly mean? Read 1 Cor 12:12-26. Pray and ponder what God is revealing to you and your family.

St. Blaise, who had studied philosophy in his youth, was a doctor in Sebastia in Armenia, the city of his birth, who exercised his art with miraculous ability, good-will, and piety. When the bishop of the city died, he was chosen to succeed him, with the acclamation of all the people. Blaise instructed his people as much by his example as
by his words, and the great virtues and sanctity of the servant of God were attested by many miracles. His holiness was made manifest through many of these miracles. From all around, people came to him to find cures for their spirit and their body; even wild animals came in herds to receive his blessing. In the year 316, Agricola, the governor of Cappadocia and of Lesser Armenia, having arrived in Sebastia at the order of the emperor, Licinius, to kill the Christians, arrested the bishop. As he was being led to jail, a mother set her only son, choking to death of a fish-bone, at his feet, and the child was cured straight away. Regardless, the governor, unable to make Blaise renounce his faith, tortured and beheaded him.
