Top environmental concerns facing the planet today are global climate change, water scarcity and declining ecosystem services. Looking specifically at these concerns, Perrigo has programs in place at all of our sites around the globe to understand our impact on:

• global climate change through greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy use;

• water consumption;• declining ecosystem services through closely

monitoring our waste streams, with an ongoing focus on reducing waste and improving recycling.

Recycling

Our recycling programs increased the total amount of material being recycled by 15% over that of previous years!

During FY12, Perrigo Michigan (PMI) recycled over 1,700 tons of paper, saving:

• 28,900 trees• 11,900,000 gallons of water• 102,000 lbs of air pollution• 5,610 cubic yards of landfill space• $67,880 of landfill expense• 134,300 gallons of oil

Additionally, PMI recycled 315,475 pounds of plastic, saving:• 59,625 gallons of oil• 1,167 cubic yards of landfill space• 4,732 cubic yards of air pollution

Perrigo has over 5 million square feet of FDA approved manufacturing facilities.

Energy Conservation

Energy efficiency starts with the buildings and plants that people work in, and the equipment, processes, and behaviors that support how the work is being done.

To reduce energy and ensure plants are operating more efficiently, Perrigo has initiated multiple projects including replacing HID and Sodium lighting in Allegan facilities, saving an estimated 740 megawatt hours (MWh) annually.

Compressed air is one of the most energy intensive utilities at Perrigo. As a result, Maintenance and Engineering conduct regular steam trap surveys and monitor compressed air leaks to ensure unnecessary energy is not being wasted.

Behavior is a critical part of any type of efficiency initiative. Therefore, the “Perrigo Green” program was started in 2011, which encourages employees to conserve paper, turn off lights and look for efficiencies. Annual energy savings of more than 30 MWh is the estimated result so far.

Landfill Avoidance

Perrigo acknowledges the importance of reducing waste and looks for creative ways to avoid the landfill. For example, bulk liquid waste generated from our liquid cough/cold products in Michigan is being used by the local waste water treatment plant as a biological nutrient.

Packaging Sustainability

Perrigo packaging engineers are always seeking ways to reduce the impact of our product packaging on the environment.

In FY12, our top 10 highest volume products used 9% less material on average than the comparable national brands.

Additionally, changes made to promotional displays and trays in 2012 conserved over 23,000 square feet of paper board and 500,000 pieces of tape.

Facts on Perrigo’s Packaging

Packaging material, such as corrugate and shippers, used in our U.S. facilities is, on average, made of more than 50% recycled material.

One third of the containerboard packaging supplied to our Michigan facilities is derived from 100% post-consumer recycled content.

Perrigo is committed to promoting responsible forestry practices. For example, 100% of Over the Counter (OTC) carton and corrugate fiber content is certified through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative or the Sustainable Forestry Council.

CONSERVING GLOBALLY, ACTING LOCALLYPerrigo Michigan (PMI) Energy and Water Use

Using the Energy Star energy performance tool, Michigan’s Plant 4, Plant 5, Plant 7 and the Allegan Logistics Center (ALC) all ranked at or near 100% efficiency. That’s almost double the efficiency of the average pharmaceutical factory, and about 25% better than what Energy Star considers to be an efficient pharmaceutical plant (see p. 3).

Run-off water created from manufacturing can have an impact on the environment. Instead of allowing it to enter the sewer system, Perrigo Michigan uses this reject water in the boiler systems to cool our equipment.

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) issues permits to regulate storm and waste water discharges to surface waters. Phosphorus is a chemical element that could impact water quality. Perrigo, along with other local organizations within the Kalamazoo River/Lake Allegan Watershed, participates in a cooperative agreement to reduce the total maximum daily loads (TMDL) of phosphorous being discharged into the local Kalamazoo Watershed. Participants in this program share best practices in order to educate on how to reduce phosphorous discharge and help prevent potentially dangerous contamination of local surface waters.

Perrigo Minnesota (PMN) Recycling

In October 2012, PMN sponsored a recycle day, allowing all employees to bring their home recyclables into work. The event was successful and brought in an impressive amount of recycled goods.

Recycling included:

• 185 gallons of paint• 518 various types of light bulbs• 4,610 pounds of electronics

Perrigo Holland (PMH) Recycling

In response to growing employee interest, PMH created the “Green Team” earlier this year to oversee plant environmental initiatives. The team’s first mission was to increase recycling and reduce waste at their location.

The team set a goal to recycle 60 percent of its waste and is well on its way. During 2012, PMH increased recycling significantly through improved training and communication, adding more receptacles and driving impressive employee-owned involvement.

Perrigo U.K. (PUK) Recycling

Perrigo U.K.’s Braunton facility proves you can still recycle effectively, even with constricted space and limited resources. Waste and recycling receptacles are in place to enable easy access throughout the plant.

Perrigo is committed to fostering a productive environment that supports employee health and wellness, while protecting them on the job. We have a strong culture of safety around the globe, and provide benefits and programs that encourage employee health and wellness.

A Culture of Safety

At the end of FY12, Perrigo was in line with the industry average for the number of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable incident rates, averaging 1.8 globally.

As indicated in the chart above, the number of actual cases has dropped, even though the number of employees has increased.

Plant managers emphasize and support Perrigo’s workplace safety system. The system includes monthly Safety and Emergency Response Team (ERT) meetings, as well as regular workstation ergonomic reviews. Continuous employee training is conducted to both identify and eliminate safety hazards.

Protection from Chemicals

Medicines are intended to have a physiological effect on the human body. This is good for those who need healing, but may be harmful for those who handle large quantities of raw materials. Therefore, it is important that those who handle these chemicals at work are protected from exposure.

During FY12, 48 separate risk assessments were conducted at Michigan operations, involving the collection of 323 air samples. These assessments were performed to ensure our employees are able to work safely with the increasingly potent active pharmaceutical ingredients we handle.

Perrigo employees are protected by a variety of facility and engineered controls, training, equipment and procedures. We are committed to designing facilities and equipment that provide well controlled processes, and reducing our reliance on respiratory protection and other forms of protective equipment.

Implementing Safety Programs

An estimated 85% of accidents are caused by unsafe behaviors, which is why Perrigo started the Perrigo Auditing Safety System (PASS).

The goal of PASS is to train employees to eliminate injuries by addressing safe and unsafe behaviors of people in the workplace. To complete a PASS audit, a trained employee watches another perform job functions and analyzes what could be done in safer manner.

The Perrigo Cup

The Perrigo Cup is a recognition for good safety performance, and winning it is a significant achievement. The annual award is given to a department or site that has made the most progress to protect our employees throughout the year.

Congratulations to Perrigo India (PIN) for winning the Perrigo Cup last year.

Perrigo products are sold at more than 40,000 retail stores worldwide.

The American Heart Association

For the fourth year in a row, Perrigo received the American Heart Association’s Fit Friendly Gold Achievement award for its efforts in promoting health and fitness.

Fit for Life

Perrigo encourages employees and their families to demonstrate a personal commitment to individual health and vitality by engaging in a healthy lifestyle and by taking advantage of company-provided preventive care resources and educational opportunities through fit for life, the Perrigo wellness program.

The Perrigo fit for life program offers a health risk assessment every three years, which includes a biometric screening and a lifestyle questionnaire for all employees and spouses on the health plan. It creates awareness of health status, encourages healthy lifestyles and measures the health of our company.

About 70% of Perrigo’s U.S. employees and 68% of spouses on the health plan participated in a health risk assessment during FY12, and 35% of our employees voluntarily participated in at least one fit for life program during FY12.

The program also sponsors several events throughout the year for employees and their families to stay active and healthy.

Each Perrigo site outside of the U.S. has selected a wellness champion, and is in the process of developing a multi-year wellness strategy that will advance or commence health and well-being initiatives that are appropriate to their unique health issues or challenges.

Lean Sigma

Lean Sigma is a discipline that helps Perrigo maintain our competitive edge by increasing the quality of our products. Through Lean Sigma, we can achieve faster, better and lower cost performance by eliminating waste and improving our processes and systems.

As part of Perrigo’s development efforts, Lean Sigma certifications (or “belts”) are offered to employees through a combination of training, mentoring and hands-on application.

As of FY12, Perrigo has certified:

• 30 Black Belts• 136 Green Belts• 680 Yellow Belts• 1,100 White Belts

Achieving Process Excellence

Every year, Perrigo hosts the Continuous Improvement Conference, a global event in Grand Rapids attended by hundreds of employees from around the globe.

The event focuses on sharing, learning and acknowledging best-in-class improvements that promote safety, quality and innovation for all Perrigo sites globally.

Diversity

Perrigo employs over 9,000 employees worldwide, with 37% located outside of the U.S. in Australia, China, India, Israel, Mexico and the U.K. In total, Perrigo has facilities and employees in:

• 13 different U.S. states• 7 different countries• 4 different continents

Perrigo’s New York (PNY) site has a very diverse team, with employees that speak over 20 different languages and dialects, and live in four different states: New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In terms of gender diversity, 44% of total Perrigo global employees are female.

Global Compliance

Perrigo takes a proactive approach to compliance and governance, while monitoring compliance activities closely.

This past year, the Global Corporate Compliance (GCC) team made enhancements to the Code of Conduct. The code is delivered to all employees and serves as the guide to making sound and ethical business decisions.

The GCC partners with our global sites to build, reinforce and educate compliance locally. While the GCC team is Michigan based, Perrigo has 21 Compliance Coordinators to cover all sites around the globe and provide local expertise and leadership on compliance related topics.

We Are Responsible

Perrigo is committed to doing what is right, and is guided by our Core Values of Integrity, Respect and Responsibility.

These Core Values empower our employees to always do what is right. Perrigo’s Code of Conduct explains these in detail, outlining the expectations for every employee.

8

Ergonomics

An emphasis on ergonomics provides two important benefits: it keeps our highly trained employees on the job and free from painful repetitive motion injuries, as well as minimizes wasted movement.

Ergonomic assessments identify challenges and practical solutions that enable us to resolve workplace issues, often reducing wasted movement and leading to considerable cost savings. Perrigo’s training programs emphasize a hands-on approach and practical problem solving methods, customized

to the individual work environment, while supporting ergonomic improvements.

Emergency Response Teams

Perrigo supports both Safety Teams and ERT. The Safety Teams have increased in size by over 30% in the last two years and the ERT program now has over 400 certified ERT members at the Michigan location alone.

People are the most critical element in the success of any safety program. This is why Perrigo is committed to providing a top-notch safety program so that employees can return home safely.

In addition to money donated through the Foundation, Perrigo and its employees support their communities and contribute to a wide variety of good causes.

Team PerriMo?

Team PerriMo is the name of the 15-person team of Perrigo Michigan employees that took part in the

“Movember” initiative, dedicated to the education, survivorship and research of testicular and prostate cancer.

They started November clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these “Mo Bros” grew and groomed moustaches, goatees and full beards to the best of their abilities. Team PerriMo finished in the top 10% of all U.S. teams with over $2,500 dollars donated.

Several Perrigo U.K. and Israel employees also formed teams to support Movember, with the U.K. team collecting £600 pounds.

Soles 4 Souls

PMI Plant 5 was the first to start a captive shoe policy, requiring all plant employees to wear special shoes while in the plant.

Instead of throwing the used shoes away, we donate them to the Soles

4 Souls campaign, which distributes them to societies desperate for reliable footwear.

For calendar year 2012, employees at Plant 5 donated an estimated 500 pairs of shoes.

Other Community Involvement Highlights

• Three times a year, Michigan employees donate a Saturday to pick up trash alongside a Perrigo-sponsored stretch of US 131 to support Adopt a Highway

• Angeltree and Toys for Tots toy drives are held at several locations during the holiday season

• Red Cross blood drives are held at several locations throughout the year

9

people Philanthropy and the Community

CELEBRATING 125 YEARS OF SUPPORTING CONSUMERS’ HEALTHCARE NEEDSIn 2012, Perrigo began a year-long celebration of its 125-year anniversary. In Michigan, where Perrigo was founded, the company celebrated with employees through its annual picnic, internal communications and other events. It also celebrated with the community through a series of sponsorship opportunities, anniversary-themed street banners in its hometown of Allegan and billboards that thank West Michigan for 125 years of support.

During the celebration window of July 2012 and June 2013, each Perrigo global location is planning an employee event to celebrate the anniversary and distribute a special corporate gift. A historical display designed in collaboration with the Grand Rapids Public Museum is traveling from site to site to enhance these local celebrations. Several

locations have personalized their celebrations based on local culture and customs.

This is a special time for Perrigo, made all the more special because of the great people we have around the world and the tremendous contributions they make to Perrigo each and every day.
