PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT:

Implemented sequential load shedding scheme for TGs (10 & 14 MW) during under

frequency fault.

Formulated & implemented strict maintenance policies. Achieved Zero Down Time.

Reduced power consumption per tones of cement by 2.5 KWH by means of

rearranging LT motors of suitable size in energy conservation study resulting in

substantial monetary savings to the company.

Energy saving by replacing plant lights from HPSV/HPMV to LED by measuring lux

level as per industry standard. Reduce voltage input to lights by lighting transformers.

Slightly frequency kept lower side by 49.25 HZ to reduce power consumption without

effecting plant production.

Replaced existing fan DOL starting to VFD drives to reduce power consumption .

Design, Engineering, Procurement ,Construction & Commissioning of the following

a) 132/6.6 KV Substations with 1 No’s 24/32 MVA power transformer

b) 33/11/6.6 KV HT switchgears

Repaired 2100 KW ESP fan KEC HT motor at site where slip ring and power cables

got burnt again and again. Effective cooling system developed for cooling the slip

rings and new proper size copper flexible cables were laid and connected to minimize

resistance at contacts.

Electrical schemes were modified for truck loading machines of cement packing.

Resulting 15 no’s of man power reduced and achieved zero break down.

Repaired in house 5000 KW BHEL HT Slip ring and slip ring joints.

3x30 MW Co – Generation Chinese power plant commissioned at VAL and UAIL

site.

Load shedding scheme (electrical hardware) developed for effective load shedding in

case anyone turbines trips.

Grid islanding system steam lined by gradually reducing vector angle at 6 degree

from earlier setting was 12 degree as per recommendation of consultants..

Motivated & trained the team as all subordinate was not well experienced.

As Chinese system was not commissioned as required, conducted load and no load

dynamics on all three STG’S in VAL and UAIL sites.

Highest 3E project and modifications done across Wartsila India for smooth running

of plant, this has meaningful for energy saving, zero break downs and learning’s for

the team.

Utmost priority to safety and daily task for 30 minutes as training to the subordinates.

100MVA Crompton makes transformer oil leakage from bushing arrested in house.

220KV/33KV/6.6KV/11KV, 14 way switchyard operation and maintenance done

successfully.

25 MW BHEL make STG commissioned successfully at M/s RNP Surat.

There was an almost daily basis failure of VFD panel of ID and FD fans due to

improper place chosen initially. Utkal Alumina management spent INR 2.0 of crores

in account of replacement of spares due to breakdowns within six months. We started

in house closing of holes and openings to prevent dust and moisture. Breakdown

comes in reducing trend, then we tried to conveyance the Utkal management for

spend INR10.0 laces to provide insulated flooring, double doors and AC cooling

system inside of VFD panel room to prevent from dust and moisture. This job was

completed in the month of June 2014. After that we have not observed single

breakdown in all 12 No’s HT VFD’S. This was a classic example of implementation

of 5S to improve plant availability.

Auto changeover electrical scheme implemented for BMCC, MOP and AOP pumps to

prevent plant black outs.

Relay co-ordination done between switchyard and CPP to take care of electrical

faults.

Worked for various optimization projects to improve the reliability and asset

optimization of equipments as per guidelines of M/s PWC USA consultants.

Worked for safety enhancement as per guidelines of M/s DuPont USA consultants.

Erection, commissioning, testing of Heavy Engg. Equipments like automatic gas

cutter, boring m/c, Heavy duty lathe m/c, gas welding, and shaper. These m/c

were old machines (Purchased from Germany).

I have completed highest 3E projects across Wartsila India in 2010, 2014, 2015 for

which I was appreciated and displayed my name in magazine and rewarded with three

days two night stay in five star hotels with family across India.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

WARTSILA INDIA LTD July 2007-Present MANAGER/SR.MANAFER (HOD ELECTRICAL) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sr. Manager Electrical (Head Electrical) at UAIL site since Oct. 2013 to Oct.-

present and responsible for 3X30 MW, Co-Generation power plant including CHP,

AHP and Wagon tippler.

Initially UAIL plant was looking as scrap plant supplied by M/s Greensol Power from

China and none of equipments have commissioned even any protocol and schemes

were not completed. Most of working approaches were missing of equipments .We

have made the list of the problems and completed one by one on priority basis to run

the plant. M/s AVBirla management thought this is critical task for us but Wartsila

team proved their competency, now this plant is running successfully. I am proud as a

member of the team and heading electrical department.

Sr. Manager Electrical (Head Electrical) at HZL site since June 2011 to Oct. 2013

and responsible for 2X80 MW, 1x10MW, 1x 6MW CPP including

220KV/33KV/11KV/6.6KV, 14 ways with transfer bus switchyard having full import

and export contract with GRID.

I was transferred at HZL when 01 Engineer got fatal and 02 No’s technicians got 60 -

70 % electrical burning, happened on 27.02.2011. Due to the accident, team was fully

demoralized. This was big challenge for me to normalize the plant electrical system.

This assignment was completed successfully.

Manager Electrical (Head Electrical) at VAL Lanjigarh since July 2007 to May

2011 and responsible for 3X30 MW Co-Generation thermal power plant including

132KV/33KV switchyard along with 5KM 33KV line.

M/s Vedanta Aluminium Lanjigarh was first job in my life for contractual

assignments and we have to satisfy the customer for which we have hired. There was

very adverse situation for staying, usual local strikes, and unfavorable road conditions

along with Chinese plant. Usually 06 hours per day spent on journey for reaching the

plant. This was great challenge for Wartsila team. Because this was first coal power

plant O&M site of Wartsila in their history. We came out from problems gradually

and succeed as a team after two years. Imagine we faced 65 tripping in a year due to

various reasons

1. Contractual deliverance as per contract.

2. Goal setting of the team.

3. Build up the team and develop the confidence across the team. 4. Planning and scheduling for effecting predictive & preventive maintenance for Electrical equipment for the power plant to increase machine up time & equipment Reliability. 5. Identification of the lacunas and plan to modify as per process requirements.

6. Vendor developments for special & critical equipments for their AMC’S.

7. Day to day monitoring of equipments tripping and action plan for remedial action

Accordingly.

8. Point to point job responsibilities for equally loading to Electrical Engineers/

Technicians for delivering utmost output from the team.

9. Close monitoring of plant parameters and review/rechecking of protection settings

Of critical and important equipments.

10. Spares planning and ensure timely availability of spares.

11. Identify training needs of individuals and arrangement of trainings to bridge the gap

of the team members.

12. Ensure hazardous free and safe working area for the team.

13. Identify unsafe area and action plan for rectifying the same.

14. Plan for annual overhauling and spares availability.
