Introduction: Nariva Swamp
The Nariva catchment occupies the eastern thirdof the Nariva hydrometric area. The drainagebasin has a total area of 461 km2 and receives
approximately 2000 mm to 2800 mm of rainfallper annum.
It is drained by several rivers, which emanate
from the Central Range and discharge throughthe Nariva Swamp into the Atlantic Ocean.
