"These youngboys and girls, by qualifying thetopmost civil service examinationof the country, are instrumental inenhancing the esteem and statusofour State", Mr Azad said.

    Describing the consistent trendof our youth prominently figuringin the UPSC list as a healthy sign,Mr Azad said this will enhance thecredibility as also bring acclaimand applause for our talentedyouth, both nationally and interna-tionally. He expressed the hopethat these promising youngsters ofthe State will make exemplarycontributions to the nation andsociety in the years to come bydint of their capabilities and com-mitment.

In this connection variousfunctions and Shoba Yatras weretaken by the devotees of this greatsaint of India who preachedhumanity, brotherhood and lovethroughout his life.

    Bhagat Mahasabha J&K Unitorganised a State level function to

    celebrate of 616th Prakash Utsavof Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb Ji hereat Auditorium of GovernmentWomen College Gandhi Nagartoday, in which follower/devoteesof Sadh Guru Kabir Saheb ji fromdifferent parts of State and neigh-boring States of Punjab, HimachalPradesh and Haryana participat-ed.

    They paid homage to greatSant of Bakti Movement. Peoplefrom the different areas reached atvenue in the shape of jhankies bychanting slogan and bhajan ofSant Kabir. A satsang and kirtanwas also held on the occasion bySwami Milkhi Ram Bhagat ,while singing the sabad dohe andsakhian of Sadh Guru KabirSaheb, swami Ji preached theSangat to follow the teaching ofSant Kabir as only his teachingscan bring Bhagat community outof backwardness & dark-age.

    He appealed the Bhagat com-munity to stop bad habits likedrinking alcohol, smoking, dow-

    Baba Bhagwan Dass Ji, (UdhasMarg R.S. Pura) & Dina Nath Jion the Bani of Saints with specialreference to Kabir Bani. Heexplained the Sangat that Kabirwas a living spirit of God &preached the inner richness ofhuman values.

    President of the Sabha, F.C.Bhagat while addressing the gath-ering said that Sant Kabir was abeacon of enlightment and spiritu-al attainment and his main thrustwas on humanity by spreading themessage of love, peace and tran-quility. According to Kabir SahibBani, all human are equal and theonly way to attain mokshadepends on ones karma & not thematerialistic world.

    Mula Ram (Ex Minister) &Chairman of the Sabha was thechief guest who appealed the com-munity to reduce their unwantedexpenses & provide best facilitiesto their children for their brightfuture. Among others who attend-ed the function were Prof. GharuRam, MLA, R.S. Pura, K.C.Bhagat, MLA, Chenani, ShamLal, MLC, Chaman Lal, ExMLA, Yash Pal Bhagat, SubhashBhagat & Bhushan Bhagat(Political Leaders) and others. At

    the end Guru Ka Langar wasserved to the Sangat.

    Describing Sant Kabir as anepitome of righteousness, provin-cial President NationalConference, Devender SinghRana said that his philosophy inverse will continue to guidehumanity and help society to over-come the malice of hate and intol-erance.

    Those who follow teachingsof the greatest Sant will never doinjustice with fellow beings or tol-erate injustice, he said while pay-ing tributes to the greatest propo-nents of Bhakti Movement on his616th Prakash Diwas at a functionheld at Kabir Mandir Old Rehari,organized by All Jammu andKashmir Megh Sudhar Sabha.

    Mr Rana said the best way ofremembering the greatest Bhaktipoet is to take a pledge to tread thepath shown by him and work forthe growth of harmonious societywhere people, irrespective ofcaste, creed or colour live a digni-fied life based on the well definedprinciples of humanity.

    Mr Rana said that OmarAbdullah led Government is keento see weaker sections flourisheconomically and academically. Inthis connection, several pathbreaking initiatives have beentaken during the past five and halfyears, he added.

    Speaking on the occasion,Chairman SC/OBC Cell ofNational Conference BabuRampal paid glowing tributes toSant Kabir and threw light on var-ious facets of his life.

    In his enlightened address tothe congregation, Mr NarinderBhagat hoped that people will fol-low the teachings of great gurusand work towards the bettermentof society.

    HC nominates Vacation JudgesExcelsior CorrespondentJAMMU, June 13: High

    Court today nominated theVacation Judges for the periodbetween June 16 and June 27,during which the High Court willobserve summer vacations. TheseVacation Judges will hear matterswhich are required to be immedi-ately dealt with.

    According to the notificationissued by Registrar General,Justice Janak Raj Kotwal will bethe Vacation Judge of JammuWing from June 23 to June 27 andJustice Bansi Lal Bhat will be theVacation Judge of Srinagar Wingfrom June 23 to June 27.

    Meanwhile, CJM Jammu, S CKatal nominated four JudicialMagistrates to function as DutyMagistrates during the SummerVacation to deal with emergentcriminal cases of Jammu district.

    Susheel Singh, MunsiffJammu will hold the court fromJune 16 to June 19, SS Bali, Sub-Judge will hold the court fromJune 20 to June 23, CJM will alsofunction as Duty Magistrate fromJune 24 to June 26 and Khem Raj,Sub-Registrar Jammu will holdthe court from June 27 to June 30.

    Soz says he briefedCong ministers on ReTs

    JAMMU, June 13: PradeshCongress Committee presidentProf Saifuddin Soz claimed tohave sensitized Congress minis-ters in the cabinet to the demandsof teachers in general and Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers in particular.

    In a press statement issuedhere today, Prof Soz said that hehad told his party ministers thatthese demands are genuine andmust be considered sympathetical-ly. He has also told them that sincethese demands are going to beplaced before the cabinet in futureand these demands must receivesupport. Soz invited attention tothe demand of the RET teacherswho want inclusion of five yearsservice in their service record.The other important demand ofthe RET teachers is the transfer offemale teachers wherever, theirrequest is to be considered onhumanitarian grounds.
