Data Processing Network for Media ConglomerateSouthern California, USA

Challenge:Protect data processing network from fire and collateral damage

Solution: ANSUL® INERGEN Clean Agent Fire Suppression System

Application:16,500 ft2 (1,533 m²), two floors

For one of the world’s largest media conglomerates, protecting the multi-million

dollar network processors in its data processing hub from fire was a priority. But

so was the company’s commitment to what it calls “environmentality.”

The fire suppression system chosen by the company had to meet strict criteria,

the foremost being the protection of sensitive electronic equipment and valuable

data, but in an environment-friendly way. Specific benefits included safeguarding

employees, protecting equipment without causing collateral damage and minimizing

equipment downtime in the event of a fire.

For this processing hub, the solution to every challenge was the INERGEN Clean

Agent Fire Suppression System. The INERGEN system is electrically non-conductive

and suppresses fire without using water, helping to prevent damage to high-value,

mission-critical assets.

In addition, the company wanted an alternative to the ozone-depleting chemical

suppression agent it had in place. In contrast, INERGEN agent, composed of

atmospheric gases, causes no harm to the environment. It proved to be a perfect

choice for a company that strives to be environmentally responsible while protecting

its people and property.

Johnson Controls offers a 20-Year Environmental Warranty that covers both the fire

suppression system and the agent plus a 20-Year Evergreen Discharge Warranty that

covers the cost of the agent.
