Fashioi> Show was a complete success due to the efforts of the chairman, Mrs. Jerry Callis and her committee. We arc very glad to report that Miss Gerry Hyatt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Hyatt, is recovering nicely from injuries she .sustained in an auto accident. Dr. and Mrs. Stanley Stone and children. Mary Ellen, Doris, Kathryn and Michael, left Friday for Kenya, East Africa where they will remain for two years. This is Dr. Stone’s sec- ond assignment in Kenya. Mrs. Joseph Raso attended a bridal shower for her cousin, Miss Marion Pietrowski in Brooklyn last Saturday. Benjamin Volinski, Jr. class of ’68, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Volinski who is an English major at Union Col- lege was named to the Dean’s List for the Spring grading period. Miss Elinor F. Ward, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Ward, was one of 197 students at the State University Col- lege at Buffalo, N. Y. who qualified for the Academic Achievement for the June Semester. ADD SOUTHOLD M/Sgt. (E8) Alfred Sanford returned to Southold on Satui'day from a year’s tour of Active duty in Viet Nain. A1 had been in service for fifteen years. He and his wife, Hideko, and daughter, Patty, left today, September 1st, for Fort Belvoir, Virginia where he will be stationed. Patty says she is going to miss her many nice little friends in SoutliGld. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Toudien of Amity- ville were guests of Mr. and Mrs Robert C. Morris over the weekend. We expect that our Building Inspec- tor, Howard M. Terry, who has been a patient at the Eastern Long Island Hospital will be home by the time of publication. However, we know he is recovering very well from a bout with pneumonia. Robert Thompson of South Harbor Road Is recovering nicely from an operation at the Eastern Long Island Hospital on Tuesday, August 30th, WESLAND NEWS Mrs. R. J. Cech is again a patient in Doctor’s Hospital, East End Avenue, N. Y. City. Hed many friends wish her as quick a recovery as po.ssible. Miss Mary Hubert returned to her home in Greensboro, N. Miss Laura Ritchie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ritchie returned to her home in Lynnbrook after visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Hickey. Southold Yacht Club August 28th was another day of light air, therefore a short course being from the Yacht Club to the Brickyard and back. The boats finished in the following order; Lightnings—1st, Jim Ward; 2nd, No. 7971; 3rd, Steve Cucuru. Javelins — 1st, Leroy Rausch; 2nd, Sira; 3rd, No. 39. Dick Osmer finished between first and second place in his Flying Tern after a very late start. The order of finish for the Sunfish was as follows: Eric Isbister, Dave Ulp, C. Rothman, James Rich III, Vicky Adamson and Jackie Mann. In as much as Eric Isbister and his crew did not wear their life preservers, your race committee is obliged to dis- qualify him. The final races of the season will be held Sunday, September 4th at the regular time. The prizes will be awai-d- ed as soon as possible after the last race. After the prizes have been awarded your race committee will be pleased to hear any suggestions that you may have for improving the races next season. SO 5-5510 DEATHS THOMAS M. R. FLURRY Thomas M. R. Flurry, five months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Flurry. Jr. of Deep Hole Drive, Mat- tituck died at the Eastern Long Isla.nd Hospital on August 26th, 1966 from injuries he .sustained in an auto acci- dent on Friday. Services were held at St. Peter's Lutheran , Church in Greenport on Monday, August 29th at 10 A. M. with Rev. Arthur C. Bryant, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was in Ar.shamomoque, Southold. HAROLn F. BUCKLEY Mr. Harold P. Buckley of Marlene Drive, Mattituck died at the Fairlawn Rest Home in East Northport on Au- gust 29th. He was born in Elmhurst, L. I. on August 21, 1897, the son of Andrew and Mary Cheshire Buckley. Mr. Buckley was an employee of the New York Telephone Co. for 43 years and was retired. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers. Besides his wife, Sybil, he is survived by two sons, Donald A. of Mattituck; and Kenneth H. of Greenlawn; a sister, Mrs. Martha Lang of Mattituck. Five grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held on Sep- tember 1st at 2 P. M. at the DeFriest Funeral Home in Mattituck with Rev. Peter Jacobsen officiating. Interment was in Cutchogue Cemetery, Cut- chogue, L. I. FRANK H. LUBBE Ml-, Frank H. Lubbe of Indian Neck Lane, Peconic died at the Eastern Long Island Hospital on August 22nd. He was bom May 5, 1883, the son of Fred- erick and Catherine Gardner Lubbe. He had resided at Indian Neck Lane for twenty years. Mr. Lubbe is survived by a brother, a sister and nieces and a nephew. Funeral services were held at the DeFriest Funeral Home in Southold on August 25th with Rev. Arthur Bryant officiating. Interment was in Cutchogue Cemetery. MRS. AGNES T. DAVIS Mrs. Agnes T. Davis of Factory .Ave- nue, Mattituck died at the Eastern Long Island Hospital on August 23rd. She was born in Patchogue on Novem- ber 29, 1890. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Yarrusso of Mattituck; a son, Stanley Davis, Jr. of Mattituck and five grandchildren. Two great grand- children also survive her. F\ineral services were held on Thurs- day, August 25th at Rogers Funeral Home in Cutchogue a.t 2 P. M. with Rev. John Swords officiating. Inter- ment was in Cutchogue Cemetery. Southwood Property Owners Held Annual Meeting Sunday The Southwood Property Owners Association held their annual meeting and cook-out on the Southwood Com- munity beach on Sunday, August 28th. Following is the new slate of officers elected at the meeting: President, Mrs. Joseph Link; Vice President, Mrs. T. L. Barber; Secretary, Richaid Winters; Treasurer, Kenneth Hagerman and Sergeant-at-arms, Edward Heins. A fine outing was enjoyed by all the residents of Southwood. Cutchogue Home Extension The first meeting of the Cutchogue Home Economics Unit will be held on Tuesday, September 6th at the Meth- odist Church. Anyone may join the unit. It starts with a one dish luncheon at noon and the business meeting is at 1 P. M. New members may join and the others may renew their membership at this meeting. Mr. and Mrs. John Temme and sons, Paul and Bryan of Floral Park are enjoying a two weeks vacation a t the Boyce home in Wesland.

Little Billy LaVelle, son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. LaVelle of Bayside is spending some time with his grand­parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. LaVelle.

Miss Laura Ritchie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ritchie returned to her home in Lynnbrook after visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles V. Hickey. She accompanied Mr. Hickey home on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Quastella and children, Kathleen, Eileen, Mai’ie, Brendan and Thomas, enjoyed a week at the home of his brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fontana.

Southold Yacht ClubAugust 28th was another day of light

air, therefore a short course being from the Yacht Club to the Brickyard and back.

The boats finished in the following order;

Lightnings—1st, Jim Ward; 2nd, No. 7971; 3rd, Steve Cucuru.

Javelins — 1st, Leroy Rausch; 2nd, Sira; 3rd, No. 39.

Dick Osmer finished between first and second place in his Flying Tern after a very late start.

The order of finish for the Sunfish was as follows: Eric Isbister, Dave Ulp, C. Rothman, James Rich III, Vicky Adamson and Jackie Mann.

In as much as Eric Isbister and his crew did not wear their life preservers, your race committee is obliged to dis­qualify him.

The final races of the season will be held Sunday, September 4th a t the regular time. The prizes will be awai-d- ed as soon as possible after the last race.

After the prizes have been awarded your race committee will be pleased to hear any suggestions th a t you may have for improving the races next season.

Unfortunately with the arrival of Labor day, it is time for us to thank the summer visit> ors for their splendid support of our little shop. It was so nice to see you all again and we shall look forward to our next season.

DEATHSTHOMAS M. R. FLURRY

Thomas M. R. Flurry, five months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Flurry. Jr. of Deep Hole Drive, Mat- tituck died a t the Eastern Long Isla.nd Hospital on August 26th, 1966 from injuries he .sustained in an auto acci­dent on Friday.

Services were held a t St. Peter's Lutheran , Church in Greenport on Monday, August 29th a t 10 A. M. with Rev. Arthur C. Bryant, pastor of the church, officiating. Interm ent was in Ar.shamomoque, Southold.

HAROLn F. BUCKLEY

Mr. Harold P. Buckley of Marlene Drive, Mattituck died a t the Fairlawn Rest Home in East Northport on Au­gust 29th. He was born in Elmhurst, L. I. on August 21, 1897, the son of Andrew and Mary Cheshire Buckley.

Mr. Buckley was an employee of the New York Telephone Co. for 43 years and was retired. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers.

Besides his wife, Sybil, he is survived by two sons, Donald A. of Mattituck; and Kenneth H. of Greenlawn; a sister, Mrs. M artha Lang of Mattituck. Five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sep­tember 1st a t 2 P. M. a t the DeFriest Funeral Home in Mattituck with Rev. Peter Jacobsen officiating. Interment was in Cutchogue Cemetery, Cut­chogue, L. I.

FRANK H. LUBBE

Ml-, F rank H. Lubbe of Indian Neck Lane, Peconic died a t the Eastern Long Island Hospital on August 22nd. He was bom May 5, 1883, the son of Fred­erick and Catherine Gardner Lubbe. He had resided a t Indian Neck Lane for twenty years.

Mr. Lubbe is survived by a brother, a sister and nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services were held a t the DeFriest Funeral Home in Southold on August 25th with Rev. Arthur Bryant officiating. Interm ent was in Cutchogue Cemetery.

MRS. AGNES T. DAVIS

Mrs. Agnes T. Davis of Factory .Ave­nue, M attituck died a t the Eastern Long Island Hospital on August 23rd. She was born in Patchogue on Novem­ber 29, 1890.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Yarrusso of Mattituck; a son, Stanley Davis, Jr. of Mattituck and five grandchildren. Two great grand­children also survive her.

F\ineral services were held on Thurs­day, August 25th a t Rogers Funeral Home in Cutchogue a.t 2 P. M. with Rev. John Swords officiating. In ter­ment was in Cutchogue Cemetery.

Southwood Property Owners Held A nnual M eeting Sunday

The Southwood Property Owners Association held their annual meeting and cook-out on the Southwood Com­munity beach on Sunday, August 28th.

Following is the new slate of officers elected a t the meeting: President, Mrs. Joseph Link; Vice President, Mrs. T. L. Barber; Secretary, Richaid Winters; Treasurer, Kenneth Hagerman and Sergeant-at-arms, Edward Heins.

A fine outing was enjoyed by all the residents of Southwood.

Cutchogue Home Extension

The first meeting of the Cutchogue Home Economics Unit will be held on Tuesday, September 6th a t the M eth­odist Church.

Anyone may join the unit. I t starts with a one dish luncheon a t noon and the business meeting is a t 1 P. M.
