DAY 2 OF FILMINGSATURDAY 12TH DECEMBER 2015

Page 2: Day 2 of Filming

• Yesterday we filmed the second part of our opening sequence. Isla, Devyani was originally going to film alone but I finished my plans early and was able to join filming. Zack had a shift at work so was unable to join but we managed without him. We all went to Islas house, to film the family scene. I think the filming went well and the characters cooperated nicely. We all got a chance to film, create lighting and have a say in the make-up, hair and costumes. Overall, we had a successful filming day!

HAIR AND MAKEUP

• We want our opening sequence to look realistic so using effective hair and makeup will allow the scene to look realistic.

• Isla applied subtle makeup to look more natural and innocent. This will contrast her makeup later in the film.

• Her hair was straight and half up, half down. This shows how life varies; sometimes she up sometimes she’s down.

COSTUMES

• We want our opening sequence to look realistic so using natural everyday clothing allowed it to flow naturally.

• Ophelia's outfit was very smart but casual whereas the others were very smart. This allowed her to stand out from the rest of the family.

• The stripy black and white top also shows her two personalities. The white signifies the innocence and the black stripes connotes how danger is overtaking her innocence.

PROBLEMS WE ENCOUNTERED

• Spacing: After trying gout different camera angles we forgot about people seating, so when it came to the real filming we couldn’t get into certain places. However we working around it by moving some people who wasn’t in the frame.

• Continuity errors. After looking at the shots we had taken we realised some didn’t add up to one another so had to film parts again. This happened mainly because all characters were drinking and moving around.

• Sound Match-Up: When filming different angles of the characters singing happy birthday we realised the sound of each shot is at different timing. We couldn’t do much on the day but when editing it we can cut and change parts so it flows nicely.
