Filming Day-1:

Interior

To help create this living room have the atmosphere of a bedroom a side table and lamp was added. The phone will be used by the character to look at the time when they wake suddenly from their nightmare.

Books and folders were also added to suggest the character has a new focus in life as it is implied that she has gone through some tragedy. Also to highlight that she is young and intelligent.

Clothes were scattered on the bed as I was trying to recreate a bedroom on any day, and they are not usually immaculate. They also masked the end of the ‘bed’.

Perhaps having a somewhat disorganised bedroom is a metaphor for the character’s internal chaos and this complexity in characters is a convention of thriller films in the physiological sub-genre.

More clutter and sheets, to hide the fireplace and other living room giveaways.

One of many lighting set-ups with the three Redhead lights, here are the fill and key lights.

Bouncing light around using a silver reflector.

Josie with her hair tied loosely back and with very natural make-up look, as she is supposed to have just woken up. The colour red, which surrounds her character, is incorporated into her nightwear too.
