BEHIND THE WINDSCREEN
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone It is hard to believe that 2016 is almost gone 2017 is just around the corner a few days off waiting to bring you adventures beyond your wildest imagi-nation Well maybe some can imagine those wild adventures December 31st SBCC drive Lets go up to 5300 of elevation on the Cherohala Skyway on Saturday December 31 2016 We can take selfies in front of the 5300elevation sign From our starting point in Cleveland it will be a 75 mile drive up the Skyway to the 5300 elevation Some of our activities will be determined by those attending the drive We will meet at Harrys Shell at 4600 N Lee Highway in Cleveland TN at 1030 AM on the 31st We will drive to Tellico Plains and eat lunch at the Tellico Cafe After lunch we will drive up the Skyway stopping at a few of the overlooks then on to North Carolina and 5300 elevation Depending on time and weather those in attendance can decide if we go back down the route up (150 miles trip) or if we go on over the mountain to Robinsville Andrews Murphy and down the Ocoee to Cleveland (185 mile trip) My intent is to return to Cleveland about 5PM with daylight remaining so your final drive home will be before dark
Be sure to come to the next meeting Charles Long will explain the Long Challenge or what every the name becomes to the club members There is money ($$$$$) available for First Second and Third place I hope to make a few of the club activities in January February and March centered around getting everyone started with pictures and points awarded As we look forward to 2017 it is time to make those New Years resolutions If you are planning any trips in your car this year let the club members know they might like to make the trip with you If you have never traveled to another club for their car show let this be the year that you resolve to do so An individual called me concerning an event the first weekend of June The best I can determine it is a weekend of time trials to be held in Gainesville GA at the Riverside Military Academy If you are interested you can go to rmacham-piosandheroescom for times and cost SBCC Hoping for Good Weather Mike

DECEMBER 3 2016 The meeting was held in conjunction with our annual Christmas party at Cort and Helene Donderorsquos home Mike called the meeting to order and immediately put the new officers slate before the members in attendance The slate consisted of the same officers that we had during 2016 They were voted in unanimously The meeting was closed by unanimously vote We then dug in the wonderful food brought by members After eating we had our Chinese Christmas present exchange There were quite a few steals but the one that got more attention was the redneck crap shooter I believe Cort wound up with it much to Hankrdquos objections I believe they have them at Cabalas
