Home of the
TRAILBLAZERS!!
Welcome to another outstanding year at DCE!
Denton Creek continues to be a Title 1 campus for the 2019-
2020 school year. The purpose of Title 1, Part A is:
“… to ensure that all children, particularly low-achieving children in the
highest poverty schools, have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity
to obtain a high-quality education, and reach, at a minimum,
proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.”
Our Title 1 Parent Involvement Plan and Compact Letter will
be going home soon! The Compact Letter will also be
reviewed during Fall Conferences.
Denton Creek is proud to be a school where 100% of our

Birthday Celebrations:
Friendly reminder that we do not allow learners do bring
cupcakes/cookies/treats to distribute to the class for their birthday.
We will still be celebrating birthdays by recognizing kids individually
in the classroom, and will now feature the birthday learners on the
WDCE morning announcements on their birthday and provide them
with a special birthday gift from the office.
Behavior Management
DCE 5th grade will view all behavior choices as a learning opportunity. You can expect the following to occur to help students learn from their choices:
► First Incident: Verbal Reminder of Classroom/School Expectations
► Second Incident: Private student-teacher conference
► Third Incident: Parent phone call/email to notify that the learner will be filling out a “Stop and Think” form and signature is required.
► Fourth Incident: Action will be appropriately based on the choice the learner has made and could include: parent conference or Office Referral
