REJOICE AND BE GLAD. “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad” (Psalm 118:24). Let us remember that these words of today’s responsorial psalm are not only sung from the hearts of those gathered in our parish. They are

also sung by the poor in tiny barrios throughout Central and South America. They are sung by those denied reli-gious freedom in our world; these Christians lift their voices in clandestine places of worship. These words are sung by people who have lost loved ones to acts of terror-ism and war around the globe. Even in the midst of con-flict and division, Christians still come together to declare that poverty, loneliness, violence, and division will never, ever have as much power as the life, death, and resurrec-tion of Jesus Christ. Indeed, let us rejoice this day and be glad!

Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord Father Dennis, Deacons Greg, Malcolm, & John and the Parish Staff would like to wish all parishioners and their families a most Blessed & Joyous Easter. We pray that our celebration of Christ’s victory over death will raise us up and renew our lives through the

Spirit which He shares with us. To

We congratulate those who came into our Faith Community this Saturday during the Solemn Easter Vigil & Rite of Christian Initiation. Please join us immediately after the Easter Vigil Mass in Saint Andrew Hall for cake & punch to celebrate.

Our Lady of Grace Rosary Group The Rosary will be prayed in the home of Dona Silverman (803) 317-4122 this Wednesday, April 19, 2017 @ 7 pm. Please call Mrs. Silverman if you can attend or Laura Renda at (704) 840-9860 if you would

be willing to host Our Lady of Grace in your home for the praying of the Rosary once a month.

Our Lady of Fatima Promises all the Graces Necessary for Heaven if a Catholic Finishes the Five First Saturdays Devotion. We are pleased to announce that Father Bernard Oniwe will be joining us for FIRST SATURDAY MASS AT 9 AM BEGINNING MAY 6TH. Rosary and Confession at 8:30 am with fellowship after Mass in Saint Andrew Hall. Also, in honor of

the 100th Anniversary the faithful will have an opportunity to venerate the Parish’s statue of Our Lady of Fatima on the 13th of every month beginning on May 13th in the church.

Here are the 3 opportunities for gaining an indulgence in this anniversary year of Our Lady of Fatima.

1. Make a pilgrimage to the shrine. The first way is for “the faithful to make a pilgrimage to the Fatima Shrine in Portugal and participate in a celebration or prayer dedicated to the Virgin.” In addition, the faithful must pray the Our Father, recite the Creed, and invoke the Mother of God. 2. Pray before any statue of Our Lady of Fatima. The second way applies to “the pious faithful who visit with devotion a statue of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any church, oratory or proper place during the days of the anniversary of the apparitions, the 13th of each month from May to October (2017), and there devoutly participate in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary.” Regarding this second way, the rector of the Fatima Shrine told CNA that the visit to the statue of the Virgin, “does not necessarily have to be only at Fatima or exclusively in Portugal,” but can be done anywhere in the world. Those seeking an indulgence must also pray an Our Father, recite the Creed and invoke Our Lady of Fatima. 3. The elderly and infirm. The third way to obtain a plenary indulgence applies to people who, because of age, illness or other serious cause, are unable to get around. These individuals can pray in front of a statue of Our Lady of Fatima and must spiritually unite themselves to the jubilee celebrations on the days of the apparitions, the 13th of each month, between May and October 2017. They also must “offer to merciful God with confidence, through Mary, their prayers and sufferings or the sacrifices they make in their own lives.”

Lighthouse Catholic Ministry

Meditations for Lent Lent is the perfect time to deliberately set aside the distractions of the world and try to define where we might be on our path towards holiness. Allow Father Robert Barron, narrator of the powerful video series “Catholicism,” to lead you on a journey of Lenten growth. Fr.

Barron offers five sermons on the spiritual discipline we must cultivate in the Lenten season, a discipline centered in Christ. These meditations cover topics such as finding our identity in God, prayer as the key to mission, our thirst for God, how to end our alienation from God, and how to joyfully embrace the way of happiness.
