The aim of the RANZCOG Obstetric Ultrasound Workshop is to discuss current best practice in ultrasound and apply skills in performing 1st and 3rd trimester

ultrasound scans

1. Discuss the technical aspects of generating an optimal ultrasound image

2. Describe normal ultrasound features of first and third trimester pregnancy and common pathologies

3. Using a systematic approach, demonstrate transabdominal and transvaginal scanning of first

trimester, and transabdominal scanning of third trimester

The FSEP Refresher program runs for 4 hours and revises the fundamental concepts of the full program.

This program is a time efficient update for professionals who have previously completed the full program

and achieved a score appropriate for their position description (Scoring and Reporting of FSEP Assess-

ment). Participants in the Refresher Program also complete the FSEP MCQ assessment at the end of this

session.

Program Outline:

- Fetal heart rate control, the normal CTG & an introduction to the abnormal CTG

- Morning Tea

- The abnormal CTG, with an emphasis on decelerations, interpretation and

management
