Directions for Creating a Timeline

• Become a Historian. After reading about your topic, create a timeline that includes the key ideas or events, documenting and pulling together the information in the style of a historian. Explain what happened and why.

• Using this template. Develop the next slide as your title slide. Change the design and add graphics to fit your topic. Create a clever title, and include your name, the date, and your teacher’s name.

• Choose the format of your timeline from the following slides. • Right-click and “duplicate” slides you want to use. Make as many copies as

needed to complete the project.• Change the words and pictures on the slides.• Change the dates to fit your information (months, years, events, etc).• Delete slides you do not need (including these directions) once your

timeline is complete.
